Liked: I stayed @ the 151 Backpacker Hostel in the Miraflores district of Lima , Peru from Dec 25 to 27- for only 2 nights. This hostel is centrally located and walking distance to a pre-Inka ruin. There are many restaurants in the area and minutes from the ocean. I stayed in a single room with a bunk bed and shower. The room is next to the kitchen but there wasn't any noise from people checking in late or using the kitchen. The room has a small TV and fan only but it wasn't hot so I didn't need to use the fan. The shower was more than hot enough. There is a small sink in the room. The hostel is accessed via a door intercom system so it is secured day and night. Barcello, the owner was there often to answer any questions. He was very helpful and spoke impeccable English. He greeted everyone by name. He prepared simple breakfast for his guests. Barcello also helped reserved taxi to anywhere, suggested good local restaurants and even made a reservation for a cruise that I took. He bent over backward to help us. He even allowed me to pay my rent in soles, knowing that I won't come back to Peru any time soon and the balance in U S dollars. His yellow and white cat sometimes meet guests when she was not sleeping !!! I highly recommend this hostel.

Disliked: None. I don't mind staying there again and would recommend my friends if they go to Lima.

Liked: Location is great. The crazy cat is cool. Staff are knowledgeable about Lima. Safe and secure. Clean and tidy.

Disliked: Plastic bedding is a tad impersonal and gross. No available drinking water in the night, as tap water in Peru is not considered potable. Only bottled water for purchase that's locked up. Inexcusable to not have drinking water available for guests. Also, the owner could lighten up a little.

Liked: The owner was amazing. He helped us with so much (we had many questions and request as this was our first stop in peru).

Disliked: Not the most amazing room but seriously one of the best in south america...

Liked: The location; really fast wifi in the room and much TV channels to choose from. Also the breakfast was nice with good bread fresh from the bakery every morning.

Disliked: Don't book a taxi through them because you pay twice as much as when you get a taxi on the street by yourself. Also pay in the currency you are suppose to pay in because otherwise they will count a really bad change rate from Soles to Dollars... And the plastic around the bed and the pillows is really annoying because it makes you sweat a lot

Liked: Extremely friendly and helpful owner, good kitchen facilities, great location

Disliked: Picking on small faults only - it was quite quiet at the time. The pillows aren't very comfortable.

Liked: Fantastic location, close to all major Miraflores sights but on a quiet street. Incredible staff ready to assist with any need.

Liked: A good value hostel, with a very helpful and friendly owner. Really liked the placve, the courtyard is very pretty.

Disliked: Not much to dislike, the kitchen is a little small, but otherwise, its really nice.

Disliked: The reception and common area are in the same place....it tends to feel like staff is checking up on your every move. Having to pay extra for stuff that should be included (use of electricty, use of salt and spices) doesn't add to the atmospere either

Liked: Great location in Miraflores. Marcello and Claudio are both very helpful with lots of recommendations, which makes the stay really easy. Hot water all day. Cuddly cat for some cat cuddles.

Disliked: Plastic sheets made the bets a little uncomfy but v minor complaint!

Liked: Everything about this hostel is great. They made me feel safe and welcome. I liked it so much I went back when I returned to Lima after my tour. Marcello, the owner, is lovely - he really helps you out and is very kind and friendly. He gave me a map of Lima, told me about places to go and places to avoid, and booked reliable cabs for me. He also give me free breakfast and extra tea - important for a Brit abroad. Thanks, Marcello. Claudio and the other staff were great too. The location is great, and pretty quiet. It's a low-key hostel - you can meet new people and make friends, but you will also be able to sleep!

Liked: Marcello the owner could not have been more helpful, he provided great information about the local area, sites to see, places to avoid as well as some great restaurant recommendations. The property is in a safe area and was clean, quiet (at night for sleeping) and good hot water and facilities (common areas, wifi, laundry service etc).

Disliked: Nothing, everything was great! If I was being picky the bed was somewhat hard but I still slept ok.

Liked: The atmosphere is like a friendly houseshare, Marcello the manager is probably the most helpful and friendly person in the world, and everyone that stayed there was super friendly. STAY HERE! My fave hostel in ages!

Liked: The hostel is in Miraflores. Just few blocks from central park of Miraflores and 15 minutes to Larcomar. Also not far is excellent churros bakery and supermarket. You get free wifi, good free breakfast. The staff is very helpful and speaks very good english.

Liked: Excellent location! Walked to Larcomar & everywhere! Near excellent churros & chocolate...just ask Marcello for directions! Will definitely stay here next time I'm in Lima!

Liked: very helpful owner, free breakfast, free wifi, hot showers, clean and secure love the cat :)

Disliked: the plastic cover under the matresses feels somehow weird (although probably good for hygiene)

Liked: This hostel was a good base in lima - its conveniently located in Miraflores (no matter where you are in Lima you'll need to take taxis sometimes), rooms were clean and spatious and all the staff, especially Marcello, were friendly and helpful, despite our lack of Spanish!

Disliked: Plastic-y bedding in the double room was uncomfortable. Perhaps a little over-priced? Otherwise nothing to complain about.
