Located at 3100 meter above sea-level surrounded by the snowcapped mountains of the Cordillera Blanca in the Peruvian Andes lies the village of Huaraz. This city is the center from which the surroundings can be explored for both active and cultural trips, treks and hikes. A well-known center for mountaineers who come and try to get to the top of several +6000 meter peaks.

We are the Quirós Romero family. In 1996 we started bit by bit reconstructing our own house to a hostal. Before 1996 Nelly was English teacher at the local college in Huaráz and Juan worked as an artist in painting.

Every year we have tried to invest in the hostal in order to make it a nice place to stay for people from all over the world. By asking them what we could do to increase the level of satisfaction of our guests we have bit by bit created the place to what it is now. But it is a continuous process, things always can be better.

Thanks to all advises many of our guest have given us over the years, we now do have a hostal of which we are proud. It is clean, safe and quiet. We bought special beds and mattresses in order to let our guests have a good nights’ sleep. Back in 1998 we have started constructing a second floor with 5 rooms extra, all with private bath and hot water shower.


A very big help in getting at the point were we are now is the help of our guests, of which many have become friends. Without your advice, recommendations and promotion we could not have reached the point at which we are now.

Our rooms

The hostal is located at Amadeo Figueroa 1257.
The hostal now has 16 rooms, 4 dorms with shared toilets and hot water showers, and 13 rooms all with their own shower also with hot water and toilet also all the beds with new and excellent mattresses.Our rooms have 1,2, 3 or 4 beds. All together we have about 41 beds. Located at the first floor is the living room with fireplace and also the living room at the second floor, couch and a table with chairs to read, write or play cards. At the back is our garden now with BBQ.
