About Casa Amelia
We hope guests will appreciate how much effort has been put in to make everything perfect. Our fully equipped guest kitchen, cozy common area with TV, Wi-Fi, guest computer and laundry service give you all the comfort of home. The beautiful garden and roof terraces with sea view give you all you need to relax. There is a book exchange and personal book collection to lend. Cold beers and water are for sale.
We are more than ready to help you with all you need in Huanchaco. We have all the information you need for any activity you like to undertake in the surroundings. We know all about surfing if you are up for it and all 3 surf breaks are visible from our front roof terrace.
Be welcome and we hope you stay for a while!
Casa Amelia is built in bungalow-style with a lot of wood, bamboo and straw. It has been here and improved for many years. Casa Amelia is named after the super sweet owner Amelia, who, although she doesn’t speak a lot of English, will delight you with lots of love and care.
There is a good Wi-Fi signal through the whole building and a guest computer available on request!
There are just 3 rooms in Casa Amelia, so be guaranteed to have a quiet stay. All the rooms have 2 floors and can be used with 2 or 3 persons (there would be a possibility to use a sleeping sofa for a fourth person for a discounted fee). Two of our rooms have private bathrooms that are clean and comfortable. One room is normally used as a dormitory, with just 3 beds divided over 2 floors! The bathroom is just outside and shared. The inside has been beautifully made with brick and bamboo. All rooms have storage facilities for your clothing, including hangers.
We have two roof terraces with tables, chairs a lounge chair and hammocks. From both terraces you can see the sea and from the front terrace you can check the waves of all the 3 surf breaks of Huanchaco!
We have a fully equipped kitchen available just for guests. Gas stove, pots and pans, fridge, blender, coffee maker and loads of other things are there for your use. The same room has a lounge area with lots of seating and a television on cable connection. We really like the homely feeling of the kitchen and living room and guests have the area just for themselves to relax or have a good time. There is a fridge full of nice cold beers and water to buy.
Casa Amelia welcomes surfers. We have a shower outside for rinsing, a surf rack in the shade for board storage and a place for wetsuits. We can help you out with anything you like to know about surfing in or around Huanchaco.
Casa Amelia is located at the seafront at the northern end of Huanchaco, just there where the noise ends. Supermarkets, surf schools and restaurants are all surrounding us and the best pubs are only a 5 minute walk away. You can safely walk around at any time.
A popular surf break is right in front of the hostel. You can watch the surfers go until sunset from the roof terrace or the beach in front.
All the sights in Huanchaco (for example the reed fields, the church on the hill with great views, the lively malecón, artisans market) make for nice little walks. Activities in the surrounding include the great precolumbian archeological sights (ChanChan, Huacas del sol y luna, El Brujo), climbing a local mountain, sandboarding, visiting Trujillo, etc.. and can be undertaken from Huanchaco easily by tour or by public transport.
