Liked: Staying in this hostel is like staying at home. The owners Coco and Anna-maria are very friendly and they go out of the way to help you. They really CARE for the guests. When I did the Inca trail I left my bags with them and they looked after them. When I returned back from my trail after midnight they really made sure I am comfortable on my return. They listen to you, they talk you through and they do everything they could do to make your stay pleasant.

Disliked: To be honest there is nothing I could say. I read some of the comments and one traveller has quoted that there is no TV in the room. This is a hostel and not a hotel. You cannot expect a TV in your room where you are paying for the price of the hostel. However there is a TV in the living room.

Liked: Loved staying at El Tuco. Coco and his team are incredibly helpful. My wife was sick and ended up in a clinic and Coco went and got us medicine and then called the clinic for us. Coco was ALWAYS there to help, gave us the taxi rates for the area and helped us with food. El Tuco is extremely clean and feels like home. Very nice property. If you are planning to stay in Cusco, stay at El Tuco!

Liked: If you went to Cuzco and did not stay at this Hostel, it is the BIG mistake! Coco is the most helpful man we met in Peru. He helped us with everything, including finding a cab, negotiating a fare to every location in town. He also organised a cab for us to travel through the sacred valley for only 240 soles! The cheapest tour we have done and we saw everything in the scared valley. The hostel is amazingly clean, hot water all the time and very friendly! Stay ONLY here

Liked: Coco and his family were verry helpfull...They are so friendly, always smilling and help you out with everything. We could leave our bagage there while we where doing our trekking and we had a late check out the last day, nothing is a problem for them at all.Thank you Coco for our great stay in Cusco...We would really reccomend this place to everybody

Liked: We stayed for a week here at El Tuco and we could not believe the value for money we received - a lovely building with high ceilings and a wide staircase and many places to just be and meet people. The secret basement Bar Coco was great too. Our room was large with a private bathroom and it was cleaned and made up every day - not something you expect at a hostel! We were meant to arrive at 430am and coco said he'd be there to pick us up. Our bus was two hours late and he was still there, name card in hand, waiting for us with a smile. He showed us where to take the combi from to go to the sacred valley so we didn't have to pay ridiculous tourist prices and at S./4.80 for both of is we were very happy. He organised our bus tickets out of cusco for us too. Cannot rate this place higher! Thanks fit all the cold beers too Coco!

Liked: “Coco” is really nice, friendly and helpful and the rooms are really big.

Disliked: The street outside is noisy and much polluted during the day. The building is really old and i heard someone was bitten by fleas. Breakfast is very basic.

Liked: Coco and his family make you feel so at home and will bend over backwards to help you out. We did the Inca Trail and Coco woke up`at 5am to see us off and stayed up on our return to see how it was. Incredibly clean and amazing showers, great value for money and a home away from home!

Liked: The owners were lovely and very helpful.

Disliked: Breakfast was very basic with just bread and jam and tea/coffee, they could do with providing cereals and maybe even some fruit in the mornings. The location was 6 blocks from the main plaza which we didn't mind at first but after a few days we got a bit tried of walking all that way.

I have nothing but good things to say about El Tuco Hostel.If you are looking for a place that is clean and has a relaxed atmosphere this is the place...... Plus Coco makes a killer Pisca sour!
