Liked: Friendly host; simple but clean; walking distance to main square & activities

Disliked: Located on a multiple cross streets corner, which made for a lot of traffic noise & other activity noise, even throughout the night. We were in an outside facing room which probably made it much more noticeable.

Liked: at the limit of the ancient city, El Tuco is just perfect, convenient, and valuable. Friendly, safe, clean. Good atmosphere here. staff very welcoming and disposable. internet (computer) and wifi efficient in the living room.

Liked: El tuco is a nice hostal. Clean and not cold (which other hostal at this price could be. it´s not in the middle of the town, but in a nice cheap neighbourhood. You can easily walk to the main spuare, or take a taxi, which cost no more than 1 usd. It´s not a party-place but nice and quiet, with a nice kitchen.Coco and his wife has a good cheap hostal, were you get more than what you pay for.

Disliked: You have to pay extra (2 soles) for towels and there is no soiap in the rooms.

Liked: Tha staff is very helpful and you have a great kitchen to use at any time. The location is great if you are catching buses or colectivos to the Sacred Valley.

Liked: This is one of the best hostels that we have ever stayed in. For the price, it's an absolute bargain. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, the rooms are spacious and very clean and everything you need is provided.

Disliked: The only negative about El Tuco is the laundry service. It was quite expensive and the clothes that did come back (some small items were missing) were not very clean.

Liked: El Tuco has to be one of the best hostels I have stayed at across five continents. It is kept so well and by such a warm and inviting staff, it might better be described as somewhere between hostel and bed and breakfast. Coco, his wife, and their staff are tremendously dedicated to making guests feel at home. Clean sheets every day. Breakfast is basic but adequate. Although this is not a party hostel, the common areas are very social, as are meals.

Disliked: El Tuco could be a bit closer to Plaza del Armas, but with a fixed 2.50/3.00 Soles tax system, there really isn't much of an issue. Even so, I always felt safe walking on Ave del Sol and Ave. Grau to El Tuco.

Liked: Coco and his assistant Claudia at El Tuco were amazing. So friendly and helpful, they really made you feel at home. The hostel was spotlessly clean and the showers were hot. The common room was nice and comfortable and a good place to meet people. Coco´s free Pisco Sour in the bar/den was one of the best and strongest I´ve had. All in all an absolutely brilliant stay. Thank you Coco

Liked: Although this hostel was not right in the centre, it was only about a 5 minute walk to the main square, so the location was excellent. It had private rooms with private bathroom both of which were very clean. The hostel owner is a great guy, he was very helpful with any queries that we had. There is also a cosy little bar in the basement, and the owner served us some of his home made Pisco sour, which was very nice! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great accommodation for a low price!

Disliked: The kitchen was pretty cold in the mornings and evenings, breakfast was pretty basic.

Liked: The house is amazing, the rooms spotless, Coco (Jorge) is one of the friendliest host you will meet at any hostel in the world... if I ever go back to Cuzco this will be the only place I stay... the best place I stayed on my entire trip in Peru!

Liked: The owner Coco, his wife and helper Claudia are efficient and always ready to help. The other people staying at this hostel were also real nice. I liked the place so much that I decided to stay extra 2 days at this hostel. The hostel is a little far from Playa de Armas if you want to be right in the middle of action. But if you are planning to take tours that is irrelevant since the tour operators pick you up from your hostels/hotels. I would definitely recommend the place as it is a clean, fun place with great atmosphere and host

Liked: The moment we walked in the door, the owner Coco said, "This is your home." And so it was. I have never felt so comfortable and safe. Coc keeps his watchful eye over all guests, and he's always available to give advice or offer a friendly smile. We met many other kind travelers, and found the lounge to be a very laid-back place to make new traveling pals. Also, the showers were remarkably hot and enjoyable!

Liked: My friends and I LOVED staying at El Tuco. It was our home away from home. It's really nice, clean and cozy. Koko and his staff went above and beyond their duties! They were always there when we needed anything. It's the best of both worlds: there's a bar separate from the hostel for those who want to socialize and party it up a bit, and great for those that want to come to a quiet, restful place. Location can't be beat either--only 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Plaza de Armas. El Tuco has made our stay in Cusco very positive. Gracias para todos!!!!

Liked: Coco was extremely helpful! He knew a lot about the city (both the local attractions and more touristy places as well.) The hostel was cozy, a bit quite, and very clean and in a great location to all the action in the city. It was in a safe area.I would recommend El Tuco to any travelers. We used El Tuco as a base when we went on a 4 day Machu Picchu trek and were able to safely store our bags. Coco was up and ready waiting for us when we returned from Machu Picchu at 11pm after 4 long days of treking.

Disliked: Note that the free breakfast is just coffee, tea, and bread with jam and butter. It's basic but does the job. You can also buy snacks or more food from the supermarket and store it in the fridge.

Liked: The owner Coco is great and the hostel is amazing. We were only there for a short stay. We would have loved to stay longer. The rooms are very spacious, the showers were great, there is breakfast and a kitchen available. Would highly recommend it.

Liked: The owners were great. Really excellent place to stay for more than a couple of nights. Only complaint is when we decided we might want to stay longer, there were no available rooms! Which, I believe, is a pretty good problem.

Liked: This place is amazing, for the price the rooms are great and the owner is so friendly and helpful. Free drinks on arrival night, incredibly welcoming, large, clean, well-facilitied rooms, the only slight downside is it's a short walk from the centre of town. Still, I cannot recommend this hostel highly enough!!!

Liked: Have been travelling Sth America for about 6 weeks now and this was probably the best hostel we've stayed in so far. Coco the owner is incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating as are the other staff who work there. We had a twin room and it was very spacious, clean and had a great big shower which was always very hot. I would highly recommend this place!
