Disliked: After making a reservation on hostelbookers (and reconfirming in person 5 days before) we arrived at 11pm on New Years Eve (after visiting Machu Picchu) and were told that there were no beds. There were 3 groups that made a reservation and no beds were reserved. So much for making a reservation. The bathrooms were in poor condition. There was only one key per room, so if you arrived late at night you literally had to wake up the other people in your room to open the door (ridiculous!). They never told us about the included breakfast on arrival. The wifi didn't work and of the 3 computers they do have, only one is bearable (the other two are frustratingly slow and freeze). The dorms are very very crammed and watch out for your head on the top bunks. Mould on the walls. They don't clean the other beds once people check out, just leave them as the last guests did. We're really not fussy people and have stayed in some dives, but this was one of the worst (a combination of everything). They also locked the front door and went to lunch so we had to wait for them to come back in order to get into the hostel. Other guests couldn't get in at all at one stage and there was no key left out for even myself to open it for them. Because Hostelbookers deals with US dollars, the hostel offered us a bad exchange rate to pay them, so we changed our money elsewhere. There are so many great hostels in Cusco for competitive prices, this hostel is really not worth it.

Liked: Eggs for breaky was nice.

Disliked: The rooms, the atmosphere. It felt dark and dingy. Plus rooms were not sound proof. Drunken ppl yelling profanities coming home early in the morning. Bathrooms often were flooded or sink full of spew. Also hostel booker rate is quoted in usd but they charge whatever exchange rate they want not the official exchange rate.

Liked: It's big and quiet. The beds were big and comfortable (safe the slightly hard pillows) and the breakfast includes eggs.

Disliked: The bathrooms weren't fantastic and the water in the shared bathrooms was often cold when it was meant to be warm.

Liked: The breakfast was pretty good. Location is excellent. They have free internet (apparently only for the first 45 mins, but we weren't charged when we stayed on for an hour and a half)

Disliked: We decided to stay here as some friends of ours were already booked in. Minor points: Rooms are quite cold (though you can hire a heater for 10 soles), the rooms themselves are fairly shabby, the bathroom smelled constantly (and unfortunately) like poo - I assume it was from the drain in the floor as the toilet was clean. More annoying: Incama describes itself as 'the choice for responsible backpackers' - the only supposed evidence of which is the fact that hot water is available sporadically during the day. Furthermore, they seemed to go out of their way to rip us off - firstly by trying to charge a stupidly high exchange rate for the US dollars which we then had to argue down (partly the fault of Hostelbookers for not having a local currency option) and then by charging us a massive commission (approx 15% without telling us - and when we complained the man denied knowledge of anything and blamed the señora who was conveniently absent at the time) on the bus tickets they so 'helpfully' bought for us - mind you, she called the bus company in front of us and quoted us the price directly. With the many many choices of decent good hostals (around the same price or even cheaper) in Cusco, don't bother staying here - there are places that you don't have to be on the guard against being ripped off and are frankly better in terms of quality and comfort.

Liked: Breakfast was good.

Disliked: The staff basically tried to cheat us for being Americans. They tried to charge us for an extra night, tried to charge the deposit that we had already paid online, and also multiplied the dollar amount by 3 when converting to soles, when the exchange rate in really only something around 2.83. When we asked them about this, we had to barter with them about an exchange rate as if we were in a market. Very unprofessional. They also offered to call a taxi for us to the airport in the morning, which charged three times the normal price.

Liked: The hostel was located 6 min from the main square-- plaza de armas. The staff was friendly and kind and we met a lot of people there, especially in the Internet room because that's where everyone congregated. We had a double bed ensuite which was up to standards. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to meet people and have fun bit not if you have an early flight or excursion the next day!!

Liked: The staff at Incama are really great and so friendly. It was a great start to every day to enjoy the simple breakfast (bread, butter and jam) on the rooftop terrace. The room was comfortable and clean and there was hot water when it said there would be. The location is close to everything, but is a bit dangerous at night for those traveling alone. If you are more than one, no worries. There is free internet and cheap laundry on site. They also have wireless. I stayed in the small building which was really not sound proof. I think the taller building might be better.

Not that much of a hassle and cheap restaurants nearby.Rooms clean and comfortable. Hot water is fantastic compared to other parts on Peru.
