Great location and plenty of space, tv room, bar and kitchen included plus free breakfast. Nice and secure in its own big setting, seemed to be a few school groups but still lots of other travellers. Overall v.good to stay and relax at before heading to Aquas Calientes not the place to go and party hard.

I was most impressed with the pervading character of the place - nice but rustic colonial surrounds, amply relected in the almost overwhelming warmth and friendliness of the staff. The hostel is not without its faults, for example some of the doors don't work as well as they could, but I never felt a shiver of discomfort the whole time I was there. I put a slightly lower rating for safety and security, but only because the good vibes in the place gave me a slighty overtrusting disposition, and I declined to lock up my ipod; it disappeared, despite the best efforts of the staff to turn the entire place upside-down. Otherwise everything you would expect from a hostel is there, served with a smile. And of course, it is ridiculously cheap.

Staff were all very helpful, they had a travel agency so you can book tours and trips etc.

Great showers and location. Good place to catch up on sleep.

Location was perfect, very close to Plaza de Armas and the train station to Machu Picchu, not an uphill climb with a heavy pack. Warm blankets were provided and rooms had wooden lockers for packs. Big TV with tons of dvds for relaxing.

Not a lot, it was a lovely building however very open and therefore cold. There was nowhere you could sit and just read in the evening, the bar was dark with load music playing and the lounge never quite felt comfortable.

I liked the rooms, but the breakfast is very basic. Just bread, jam, and coca tea. If you want anything additional, you have to pay extra.
