Liked: good wifi, clean, roof top to soak up the sun and eat pancakes for breakfast, nice big double rooms. Alex is a lovely host and he offers a good 3 day trip to Colca Canyon. Our guide was Pepe and he was fantastic.

Liked: I think the best hostel we have stayed in Peru so far. Excellent rooftop terrace with awesome views of the mountains and Arequipa, pancake breakfasts were great. Alex extremely helpful booking tours, buses and giving info and all the other staff lovey and freindly. Rooms were huge(we had a double) with tv´s and view over the plaza. Quiet to sleep at night easy walk to plaza de armas in a great location, definitely recommend this place to stay in Arequipa

Liked: very nice and the beds are actualy comfortable.

Disliked: the staff is not very friendly eand helpful, and even if we had the card we did not get any reduction.

Liked: cozy homefeeling, clean and the common room and terrace are good for chilling. great location! when we were there in june there wasn´t a christian group singing at all. with this comment the person below ruined the whole business of june for alex. a shame, because it´s really a good hostel.

Disliked: organise your stuff yourself! alex is helpful and offers to organise, but it is cheaper doing it yourself.

Liked: The best part of this hostel is the staff. Friendly, funny, and informative, they were honest about treks around the area, and were glad to help out with anything. They even checked up on me when I was very late past my check-in time due to bus traffic, which is something no one else has ever done. I would recommend this hostel to anyone! Plus, banana pancaks are AWESOME.

Liked: I had a great stay! Alex and Joyesa were very hospitable, they did everything possible for us to be comfortable. The information about all the tourism was out standing. Alex knows the city and all the great places to eat, buy gifts and tour. It's a great hostal, if I come back to Arequipa I will most definitely stay here again!

Liked: I have traveled many places in the world and stayed in a variety of locations, I can honestly say that my stay here was far more of a wonderful experience than any other! The family who runs the hostle were wonderful people. I felt like it was a 2nd home for me! I enjoyed myself with some people that were there at the hostel Alex (the owner) helped me wih various planning! The treatment was 1st class and the prices he got me on different events were great! I enjoyed relaxing and watching the world cup and just feeling loved by this family! They are hard workers! They had wonderful rooms and I enjoyed the breakfast! Believe me, I never write reviews but this place is worth bragging on! If you want to get to know a nice man and his family then come here! I will hopefully get to come back and have some fun with him in December!

Liked: This was a trully great place to stay. The location was awesome. A cute little barrio that's about 7 minutes walk from the center. Very safe, very quiet and very pleasant to walk around with tons of cafes and restaurants. The owners are super friendly and helpfull. We arrived at 6 in the morning and they provided us with a room to sleep until it was check in time (until our room was available). The property is very very very clean and comfortable. Great common area as well as a roof terrace. Breakfast was very tasty as well, banana pancakes which was a nice break from the typical bread/butter/jam breakfast. Thgis place is a jam and you will enjoy your time here.

Liked: This hostel was fantastic with very friendly staff. We had a twin room, which was very roomy and warm. The staff were very helpful that booked tours and buses for us. The breakfast was great, which was pancakes with bananas. The hostel is about 4 blocks from the plaza and was very safe to walk around.

Liked: The room was nice, the place was clean, the breakfast was good and Alex was friendly. The problem was that he has a group of around twenty evangelical Christians from Texas staying until the end of June. They held an impromptu saving souls sessions in the common area (thus marking it our of bounds for anyone who didn't want to participate) and were very loud, playing guitars, singing songs etc. After June, this hostel would be good. Another tip - you can get a Colca Canyon trek cheaper than Alex is selling it.

Liked: Great service, good small hostel vibe. The place is well decked out, beds are clean and comfy, would like an extra hot shower or two though. Great rooftop terrace, best breakfast we have had in ages (banana pancakes). Overall a really enjoyable stay with good people.

Liked: The name of the hostel speaks for itself.The most amazing breakfast is included every morning. With a choice of yummy banana pancakes, or fried eggs on (non-sweetened) bread, strawberry jam, freshly squeezed mango or passionfruit juice and a selection of teas and coffee. It is a family run hostel and so the energy homely feel and attracts calm, and fun people. The service is fantastic. Alex will give you any information on buses, the coca canyon tours or what to do in Arequipa. The hotel includes-hot showers, internet connection, wi.fi, private rooms with cable tv or dorms, huge beautiful rooftop (sun baking deck) that looks directly onto the mountain.I have really enjoyed my stay and woud recommend the Amazing Home Backpacker hostel to anyone. Its a cool place. The hostel makes you feel right at home.

Liked: After traveling Argentina, Bolivia and Peru for the past two months this is by far the best Hostal I have stayed at. Centrally located from all the main sights of Arequipa, Alex the owner is very accomadating and offers valuable information for tours to be conducted , The free banna pancakes for breakfast are delicous not to mention the great energy that the rooms have. I was planning to stay here for only 2 nights I expanded my stay here to a week this hostal is truely amasing.

Liked: Stayed 4 nights in the dormitory which was very spacious, had large comfortable beds and was very clean. The hostel is in a nice neighbourhood and a very short stroll to calle Jerusalem. Free breakfast is good, the rooftop balcony is large with good views and Alex (the owner) was very helpful offering advice on nearby treks. There is no bar as of yet but Alex has explained that this is coming soon. Would recommend hostel to others.

Liked: A Fantastic place to stay with a warm friendly atmosphere, everything is clean, the beds are brillant, its cheep, theres a cute place to hang out and meet others AND had banana pancakes with fresh orange juice for breakfast...what more could your want??! (been traveling for a year and its one of the best)
