Liked: friendly staff with good info. plenty of tours on offer and bus transfers. good location, wifi very good in my room aswell. would recommed and stay again.

Liked: Fresh brewed coffee, friendly staff, good beds and location. I really enjoyed my time here at Bothy. It was quiet and very clean. The staff are cleaning constantly. All of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I ended up with a dorm and bathroom to myself which was very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan on staying here on my way back through Arequipa. Breakfast (pancakes and fruit) is served on thier rooftop patio with a nice view of the city and surrounding volcanoes.

Liked: The staff at Bothy's were amazing! everything we asked of them was done straight away and they were always friendly and happy to help. Before taking a shower, I asked about the hot water and they always turned it on for me. They made us feel very welcome at all times! There is a great movie room to watxh the dvds that they loan you.

Disliked: we stayed in 2 different rooms, the 1st dorm room's door wouldnt lock but there were lockers in the rooms for security. it was cold in the common areas but the bar was lovely. the showers were a little tempermental (probably due to the solar energy) but if given enough notice they can be heated with electricity but it takes a few hours.

Liked: Nice hostal, good location and easy to meet people.

Disliked: Definitely not 24 hour hot water! But its ok if you shower between 12 and 4...

Liked: Overall average hostel. Friendly staff and cute dog, but some of the bath rooms are in serious need of face lift / clean. Saying you are a listed building is not an excuse to avoid fixing exposed electrics, and grubby bath mould.Pancakes for breakfast are refreshing change for some, but fruit would be welcome.Please please don´t play the music so loud in the morning in the bar / reception!

Liked: Was a little disappointed. Beds are comfy and rooms are clean... but. Breakfast is bad (except for the good pancakes) - showers are at best luke warm - atmosphere is boring - why do the staff start playing loud music at 6am?? Location is good, just a few minutes to the main sights/bars/etc. and where possible the staff are helpful. Not the best hostel, but I guess its not the worst either.

Liked: great hostel, very close to everything. Dorm rooms don't have locks so make sure you use the lockers for your small valuables. Hostel complex itself is very secure. Very helpful staff, not all speak English so get your information in the day time. Hammocks are bliss.

Liked: When I was there, there were not many people and then it is a little bit dull, ofcourse. A little bit too dark, the bar was not inviting, dark also.

Liked: Only had a whistle stop tour at Bothy, but seemed very relaxed and friendly. Also had very good breakfasts - homemade pancakes!! Hot water showers a bit sporadic but does the job

Liked: Great place to stay, near the Plaza de Armas and all the bars and restaurants on San Francisco. Will look out for their place in Puno too.

Liked: This is a good hostel with very sociable and helpful staff. We didn't use the kitchen and the showers are solar powered, so cold at night. But there is always lots to do on offer at cheap prices and the 'Powder Room' idea is great.

Liked: The hostel was nice and the staff very helpful. However, it needs to advertise itself much more clearly as a party hostel. I arrived after a 12 hour bus ride with an 8.00am bus to catch the next morning, to find that there was an all-night party planned. The hostel is so small that if you don´t want to be a part of he all night boozing, there is nowhere to go.
