Liked: Staff (Vicky) and owner (Luis)are very helpful! The hostel is about 15 minute walk to the ruins, 3 mins to a super market. we had a private room, which has air Co, a fan, Cable tv. bed is comfortable. Taxi to the locks for $8US and they are out of town by a bit, the zoo is cool to visit for $1, there is a bus you can catch there from the lock and then bus back to the terminal. Great clean hostel, would highly recommend!

Disliked: Cold shower! But not that cold that you can't get under it and its standard for Panama :-)

Liked: Panama by Luis is an amazing hostel.. Great vibe, nice and clean, fine facilities.. And most importantly the owner Luis and the receptionist Vicky are the most lovely people - willing to help you with everything.. I loved Panama City, and Panama by Luis was a big part of the reason why! For sure, this is not my last time here!

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!

Liked: located close to a bus station and 2 minutes walk from a supermarket. area is close to president's house so it's quite safe and quiet. pancakes for breakfast!

Disliked: place is really basic, and badly organized.

Liked: I really enjoyed staying in this place and met lots of cool people. The dorm was clean, air conditioned(really need in hot Panama), and quiet. It's excellent place for partying, socializing, and at the same time relaxing & chill. Staff were friendly and helpful for information. I usually stay in hotel and am happy that i decide to stay in this place out of ordinary. Highly recommended.

Disliked: The stair to the dorm was a bit steep, although 2nd floor was nice without mosquito.

Liked: The staff is unbelievably helpful with services as well as helping you figure out how to get around town and visit the attractions. I recommend this hostel to everyone!

Disliked: The beds creak when you move around. That's honestly the only bad thing I can think of.

Liked: The location is ok.

Disliked: Rooms were way too small, noisy and the bathroom facilities were too poor for so many people. At least more toilets are needed.

Liked: Good hostel in a safe location - you can walk around during the night unlike many areas in Panama City. There´s a large supermarket nearby and most places to visit are a 5 min bus ride. The owner Luis is a helpful and really nice guy.

Liked: As a travel writer I stay in Hostels around the world. Rating this Hostel is difficult. Positives: Location not bad. Bed relatively good. Internet is free. Garden area.Negatives: Kitchen is tooooo small. Little in the way of cooking utensils, glasses or eating utensils. Fridge is toooo small.Luis, the owner is working to make this a nice place but I can not say that it is a wonderful place to stay. There are things about this Hostel which are nice but other things which need to be addressed to make it a better experience for travelers.

Liked: It's a great place... run by a young cool dude (Luis) in a old ballet academy building.bizarre as it sounds it's a great place to chill out, meet people and get info.I I have to thik in something I didn't like would be the heat at night... but that isn't Luis fault, Panama City is hot as hell, you can only be in bed with a fan which is noisy or not sleep at all. I heard thou, that the rooms with private bathroom (they are in a sort of bungalows) are cooler than the main building, so if you can pay a little extra I think it's a good hint.besides that I only regret not staying longer.

Liked: A very strange place to stay. The location is safe however it is a fair way away from places you may want to visit like the canal or old town. Taxis always had trouble finding the place and tried to rip us off in the process.Luis was lovely but quite offen left the hostel to attend to his ´personal business´leaving the hostel unattended. 3 times we were left in the hostel to greet people arriving and on one occassion (a Saturday night) 3 groups of people were left sitting in reception for over an hour and even then we had to leave so we don´t know when Luis eventually turned up.The free pancake breakfast is make your own from packet mix with a frypan that even oil would stick to.Nice enough place but would have stayed in the Old Town had we known the area a bit better.

Liked: Luis was very nice and helped me with everything I needed. It was a good place to meet new people. Its really close to the supermarket and good restaurants. Its clean and the beds are comfortable. I will highly recomed this place!
