Shame about reception closed during the day and for some, no alcohol. Still, the hostel is worth the expense. They have a sauna (didn't use, several others did and swam in the lake), good areas to socialse and a great view. Staff also seemingly tried to give everyone their own room (overlooking the lake). Breakfast is the best I have eaten in any hostel, by miles. Staff were EXCEPTIONALLY good and friendly, and objectively gave info on tours they booked themselves and otherwise.

I really recommend this hostel even it is a little bit expencive - big breakfast, very nice view and frendly staffs. Sauna is operated on demand.

Apart from the tired looking decor in the dorm room it is a great location and the organic foods for breakfast (all included) are delicious. Try the goat's cheese and dried banana.

Nice breakfast, hired canoes, nice location by the lake. BUT...
VERY overpriced, and towel/bedlinen are not included. A room for 2 people, including sheet hire, cost about £80 ($160) in total for one night! The room was very bare and a bit shabby and dirty.

I really like the fact that every morning I could have a beautiful view on the mountain and the lake. the breakfast was delicious and the sauna peaceful.

This was one of the best hostels we visited on our 5 week holiday. The room was very clean & tidy - a bit of a trick to using the shower! The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. After we had checked out we were able to stay and use the facilities until we caught our train later in the afternoon. We had a beautiful organic breakfast. We would definitely recommend this hostel and would stay again.

It's a great place to stay! In front of a beautiful lake, this hostel is very clean, with a nice atmophere and a lot of space both inside and outside. May be the common kitchen is a little bit too small but it's the only thing .... for the rest, it's the best place I had in Norway!

The reception staff was very friendly and I enjoyed talking about my travel plans with them. The laundry facilities were convenient and reasonably priced. I did not get to use the sauna because of my schedule but liked that there was one available. The view of the lake was fantastic.

The hostel was clean, had comfortable mattresses and supplied sheets and had washing machine/drying facilities. The staff went out of their way to help. They were amazing and very pleasant. The young blonde receptionist was very cute too.
If you are looking for a party hostel this is not it, infact they dont exist in Norway and for that matter possibly in Scandanavia. It was simple accomodation and it really depended on the other guests if you met people as a single traveller.
