Customer reviewThe location was convenient. Bed was comfortable and not bunk beds. Showers good. I didn't like the mixed gender dorms. This is not suitable for all the different cultures of people staying at the hostel. |

Jennifer WilliamsThe staff were extremely friendly and laid back and you couldn't wish for a better location-right in the heart of Oslo. The showers and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The showers offered privacy. The common room was comfortable and a nice place to relax. One thing that bothered me is that people smoke in the hostel both in the stairwell (near an open window-in view of reception) and in the common room (despite no smoking signs) and there are full ashtrays just outside reception so management is turning a blind eye. Norway has a smoking ban in public places but it is not observed here. There was even ash in the sinks. Another point is that the toilet on the fourth floor has a broken sink so no water to wash your hands-I'm sure the majority dont go down to the second floor to wash their hands so this is very unhygenic. Either the sink should be replaced or the toilet marked as "out of order". Also people leave communal food but this is not marked as such and people therefore don't use it and I noticed on my last day that management threw out lots of good food. There is not a good system for storing communal food either in teh kitchen or in the fridges (which are in the bedrooms). There is a lot of waste which could easily be avoided with a better system whereby people knew that food was for common use. |

Customer reviewGreat location. Really friendly, helpful lady at reception which makes all the difference.There was a DVD player in the room which was great after a long day out. The only real negative was that people congregated inside on the main staircase, at the windows, to smoke which was a bit unpleasant for non smokers. |
