Local bus nr 12 ("Smiberget/Montana") is a convenient way to get to the hostel from the city centre. You can take the 12-bus from the central bus terminal next by the train station, or from a place called “Festplassen” on Christies gate, which is a bit closer to the tourist information and the harbour.
The trip will take 15 to 20 minutes. Don’t hesitate to ask the driver to announce the Montana stop for You. When you exit the bus, you'll be about 200 metres from the youth hostel. Look for a nearby sign.
By car:
From Voss:
Follow E16 towards Bergen. After approximately 85 km (at Ulset), the road goes over in E39. Near Bergen, at Danmarksplass in Fjosangerveien, you'll come to a large road junction (crossroads) with traffic lights. Take left and continue along this road (Ibsensgate) until you get out on a new road (road number 585, also called "riksvei 585"). Take right, and continue approximately 1/2-1 km until you see a sign pointing to Montana. Follow the signs all the way to Montana Youth Hostel.

From the city centre:
Follow Kong Oscars gate / road 585 south. When you enter Haukeland – the main hospital area – you'll pass through a tunnel. Shortly after the tunnel you'll see a sign to Montana. Follow the signs until you reach us.
