Ålesund is located at the mouth of the Geiranger fjord, and is famous for its Jugendstyle architecture. The town has interesting sights like the city- and coastal museums and the arctic museum. Ålesund was rebuilt after the town fire in 1904, and the town is today one of 3 European towns with the magnificent Jugend architecture. Other sights: the picturesque fishing harbor Brosundet, boat life among the street Skansegata, the breathtaking view over fjord, mountains and the ocean from Fjellstua, the open air museum Sunnmøre Friluftsmuseum in Borgundgavlen, Aalesunds Museum and the Aquarium.
