Liked: many different things for breakfast (fresh fruit salat , scones, soda bread, toast....)

Disliked: many crumbs in marmelade and butter, dust on breakfast table dishes

Liked: living area was spacious

Disliked: Very hard to find- signs missing, but also posted as either cnocfeola or mourne lodge. Our room was small, quite dank, and the manager had a commercial dehumidifier trying to dry it. It has no view of the mountains, and appears to be in an industrial wasteland.

Liked: Excellent hostel, very suitable for families with kids or older people. The kitchin and the living room are wonderful. I wish we could stay longer.

Liked: The location is good for walking, situated as it is in the heart of the Mourne Mountains, and there are helpful folders containing details of local walks and maps available to consult. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was not oversubsrcibed in the middle of August which was a pity as it is clean and modern and in terms of design and location has a lot of potential.

Liked: Good location near a number of hill walks - really need a car though. Restaurant wasn't open while staying here so bought food at local supermarket. Stayed in a double room which was a bit musty and cold. Needed the window open as it smelt from lack of use and no heat meant the room was cold (although middle of July).

Liked: The lovely owners/staff - they're the best thing about this place and make up for any small flaws (which are few and far between). never met such nice, friendly, giving people. the rooms were well-sized, clean, and with great views mostly. Even with a car and a sat nav - this place is hard to find, be warned! Though that's part of it's charm.

Liked: We had the chance to experience the Mourne Mountains as a magical landscape, full of mysterious stones, waters and forests and this hostel has welcomed us in a very friendly way. We were happy to meet the local community, to have a Guinness with them in the local football club.

Liked: Really nice place, it was the hostel owner's birthday when we stayed so she wasn't around but did everything possible to make our stay lovely. She even left us tea and a hot water bottle.The hostel is spotless and has everything you could want.
