Liked: The shared room was in a wonderful colonial home owned by a friendly Nicaraguan family. Karla and her family was very friendly and helpful to me. The whole house was neat and clean. WiFi internet was dependable too.

Disliked: maybe a little hot at night, but there were enough fans so just a minor issue.

Liked: I loved the owners and their adorable little daughter. The location was in a secure neighborhood. It was a bit of a walk to the central park, but exercise is always good! Also, the atmoshpere was very welcoming and I enjoyed getting to know the other visitors in the house. It certainly felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hostel. And they had breakfast for $3 in the morning.

Disliked: It was a little noisy. The rooms are right next to each other, so I could hear my neighbor talking on the phone late into the night, but besides that I had no complaints.

Liked: This was my favorite place in Nicaragua. Run by a really nice family in their huge house. Great security, clean, outstanding bathroom and a bevy or tours available at a good price. Free wireless is very good.

Disliked: Really nothing to complain about. It's about a five minute walk to the fun side of Granada, but that's no big deal.

Liked: It`s a secure place with nice owners and staff.

Disliked: It`s located a bit far from the central square. Walking distances sum up. As it`s not a place to meet many people, I would rather recommend it for a long term stay than for a short trip.

Liked: The owners Bosco and Carla are great, they are really helpful. If you are looking to party then this isn't the place. They are an honest family trying to get a hostel running. We went on one of their tours to Masaya volcano and Bosco took us with his daughter, he was really informative about everything and it really felt like a local person was showing you around rather than some tour guide just after your money. I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world, I would say this was a cross between a homestay and a hostel. Basically I'd say if you are looking for a quiet place to stay and want genuine advice for Granada and around the area, look no further. When I come back to Granada I'll be looking these guys up.

Disliked: Not so much a dislike, but I felt it was a few too many blocks away from the centre. But saying that the walk in the day was nice, only 5 mins and in the evening a taxi cost roughly $0.90 per person after 10pm to get back. So nothing really to complain about.

Liked: AS I know this listing is listed as a hostel, If there was a way of listing it as an inn I would list it as that, as this is not a typical hostel, it has 2 or 3 beds in each room, the staff is beyond friendly, and prompt, I arrived at this hostel (inn) around 6pm, and the owner was not on the premise however one of the guest staying at the hostel called and stated he would be over within 5 minutes, and it was 5 minutes, for those of you not familiar with Latin 5 minutes generally means 15-30 minutes, but it was truly 5 minutes. The rooms are huge, about 12x12 in footage, the wifi was fast and easily accesssible, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a budget stay in Granada very nice and comfortable stay!! I haven't visited many hostels in Granada, however worldwide I have, and must say this was one of the better ones I stayed at, I got real lucky!!

Disliked: A few blocks away from central park, but you can take a taxi for around $1USD or 10 corabas (Nicaragua money) each way, and there was no patio for smokers

Liked: Clean and spacious, we booked a 2 beds in a 3 dorm room but it had a double and a single so it was actually a private room.

Disliked: Only 2 bathrooms and one of them interconnects with other rooms so if they forget to unlock the door from the inside you are down to just one bathroom. There are 2 long term residents, one of whom falls asleep with the telly on really loud at all hours. You can hear it throughout the hostel

Liked: Property was secure and family was friendly & relaxed. Had wifi, washing machine (US$5 p/use), communal kitchen and owners offer tours around Granada for US$15-$30 depending on tour.

Disliked: Quite a walk to the main square and restaurant strip. Fine during the day but late afternoon / early evening it is a little dodgy. Would not recommend for lone travelers especially women who want to go out during the evening.

Liked: Loved staying with a local family, in a real home. You are really able to relax and make yourself at home there. Ari (the daughter) is an absolute gem. So much fun to play with! All the family were incredibly kind and patient with our poor Spanish (although they speak great English). We couldn't have felt more at home in their beautiful house.

Liked: The fact that this is a family home that allows you privacy was fabulous. The home was clean, the people went above and beyond to accomidate and everything about it was satisfactory. It's NOT a hostel, so the party scene was non existent. Great place to get a good night's sleep and a perfect breakfast.

Disliked: I didn't dislike anything....this place was just what we needed and were looking for. True Nica vibes.

Liked: This is a great place just far enough away from the Plaza (but within walking distance). The beds are so comfortable and there`´s a TV and fans in the rooms. The water for showers is warm (not hot or cold) ---- comfortable. Met a nice person there from NC and we had a good time. I had such a nice stay that I booked for my trip back after a visit to Leon.
