Feels like a luxury hotel - my dorm room even had an ensuite. Close to the train and within walking distance of the city centre. Definitely an above average hostel.

Location, location, location; otherwise, it is a rather grungy, old-style hostel that has not kept up with the newer standards on YHI hostels. We stayed there twice.

Clean, friendly and the staff were very helpful. I would use this hostel again, although it was a tad pricey compared to some other ones. That was made up for the fact that it's located right in the middle of downtown Wellington though, so it allowed for easy access to all places.
