Disliked: You have to pay to get Wifi !! Who still do that in 2011 ? Never saw that before... No alcohol allowed in the hostel, so don't go there is you want to taste NZ Wines...

Liked: The staff were generally helpful and friendly.

Disliked: The kitchen was disgusting. There were dishes everywhere amd all the surfaces were a mess...my friends and I opted to break our budget and eat out rather tahn cook any food there.

Disliked: kitchen was disgusting at all times, the bedrooms were awful - the windows didnt ahve proper seals and they were glued together with silicon, the rooms smelt, the hairdryer caught on fire, it was just awful - the staff were HOPELESS

Liked: The sanctuary was very clean and quiet. Bathroom's were tidy. I was pleasantly suprised about the room.

Liked: It had elevators. That was okay.

Disliked: I was on the seventh floor. We had four bathrooms, only two of which were in service, and of the two only one had a working lightbulb. Neither had showers. I was there for four days and not so much as the lightbulb got fixed.

Liked: Not much at all! The staff were friendly and helpful, but that was about the best bit. Not the nicest hostel I've stayed in. In fact, so far the worst in New Zealand. Very cold and impersonal. Kitchen was tiny - no where near big enough for all the guests, it was dirty and ill-equipt. There was one (yes, not exaggerating) metal knife - normal knife this is, not the cutting sort but one you'd eat with - in the whole kitchen. There were some plastic ones but they were pretty useless. There was no area for the cutlery, it was just piled up by the sink. The living room was not the nicest either - broken sofas and the tv didn't work properly. Bar beneath the hostel was loud and you could hear it from two floors up. Unless you don't mind really slumming it and being disturbed I wouldn't recommend here at all.

Liked: the beds were numbered so you didnt have the bottom bed hoggers which was nice and there were under the bed lockers

Liked: It was clean enough and good location.... Info at check-in was pretty much zero. Not a great place if traveling on your own and Nomads hostel (which is more central) offers a free meal at a cheaper room rate.Just a bit average, cleaning staff always moaning about each other. Not much warmth to the place. 5 outa 10.

Liked: A bit too close to the nightlife, no chance of getting sleep if you didnt go out. Full of food thiefs and the kitchen was a riot.
