About Tamara Lodge
Built in 1904, the Tamara is a spacious Edwardian Lodge overlooking the majestic Whanganui River. There are also views of Mt Ruapehu and the Lodge is less than 1km or 5 minutes walk from Wanganui’s main street, Victoria Ave.
The extensive Garden area has plenty of garden furniture including hammocks and a picnic area.
There is a piano and guitar available in our large lounge along with a Television and DVD player.
The Kitchen is fully equipped and awaiting your creation.
Trained staff for local information on the many activities that you may wish to experience.
Wi fi and an Internet station, bbq, Free Bikes.
Tamara Lodge uses dorms/shares no bigger than 4 beds. Female share available on request

On Somme Parade situated on the 'right bank' or western side of the Whanganui River. We are between Guyton Street and Ingestre Street where they intersect with Somme Parade.
We are 1 km north of the i-Site Visitor Information Centre on the same road (Taupo Quay turns into Somme Parade). The main Street Victoria Avenue is a true 5 mins walk away.
The pubs are more like 10 mins walk
