Liked: It's a great party hostel - if that's what you're looking for. The location is great, just a short walk to everything in Wanaka.

Disliked: We stayed in the female-only Sanctuary dorm, which was fine in and of itself - however it was stiflingly hot and there was no fan or air con of any sort. I realise that with a hostel, you do sacrifice some of the creature comforts but since there was a heater in the room it shouldn't have been too much to ask for a built-in fan just to help make the room more comfortable in the heat. There was no breeze, so opening the windows didn't help - however it did cool down naturally at night, but not much. For a 'commerical' type hostel, it's pretty standard. It's like a prescription to get drunk and go crazy, so don't stay there if you're looking for a quiet night or a the type of hostel that has a personality. That being said, we still had a fun night there, but that was probably in spite of the hostel itself, not because of it. For a drunken night with randoms, it's the perfect thing.

Liked: Location is excellent, very clean with excellent shgowers. A good choice!

Disliked: The room was very narrow, with 7 people in an 8 bed dorm it was very cramped with luggage

Liked: Top-notch facilities (huge bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, etc.). Friendly staff.

Disliked: Too huge to have even the beginning of an atmosphere.

Liked: The location is simply superb, however, the men's bathrooms were disgusting as it did horribly smell like urin. As I heared, the women's bathrooms have also been really, really nasty. The kitchen was the biggest mess I've seen in a long time (and I've been travelling throughout Southeast Asia....) Unbelievable how messy some people are.

Disliked: The staff was cool and helpful.

Disliked: actual hostel was lovely and clean, 10 bed dorm was very dirty -may well have just been the people but was rough

Liked: Clean and modern hostel. Key card entry meant it was a safe place. Bathrooms clean and enough.

Disliked: Atmosphere wasn't the best as its so big. Kitchen is small considering the number of rooms but I didnt find a problem... maybe as I went in off-peak season. Hobs in kitchen are dangerous as you have to light the gas yourself with matches!

Liked: It was the best hostel among I've stayed in New Zealand. I do love the facilities especially. It was just clean, so nice. the mint bar, even though it was noisy at night, I thought the music was stylish, sounded good. I really really recommend you guys this hostel

Disliked: Well, noisy at night? but If you are tired, You will fall asleep quickly like me. So, I guess it doesn't matter. Or you can go the mint bar rather than stay in the room !

Liked: it was like a giant daycare center for teenagers. very noisy and hard to get any sleep at night. not a good place for older travelers who are interested in getting a good nights sleep and waking early to start the day.
