Built in the 1960's to house the "Dam Workers" High Country Lodge and Backpackers now offers unique motel and backpacker accommodation in the heart of Twizel.

The High Country Lodge and Backpackers is centrally located in the heart of Twizel and based in the beautiful Mackenzie Country, we are only 40 minutes drive to Aoraki/Mt Cook, 35 minutes to Lake Tekapo, 20 minutes to the amazing Clay Cliffs of Omarama.
