Liked: Receptionist was very helpful

Disliked: Ultimately this place is just another base, if you want to get wasted, bring someone back to your room to disturb all the other guests in your dorm, this is the hostel for you! Oh, and of you hate sleep book now!

Liked: Bathroom , Kitchen , Internet, TV is all right.....is good!!! Their are very good pubs with live music and a lot of good possibilities to going out....

Disliked: I arrived a dirty room, because they forgott to clean this room....

Liked: Really nice rooms with modern, clean, ensuite bathroom. Best shower that I've had in two months!

Disliked: Staff not very friendly or helpful. Kitchen not very clean and too small fridge. Bar not very good and you could hear music from the bar all night long to the room.

Liked: TV in room

Disliked: Noise from nightclub beside the the hostel is very bad. Starts at about 9 every night and doesn't finish til about 3. Our room wasn't even that close to it and it was still very loud. Also, the door to the ensuite bathroom was a sliding door which was broken. It had been like this for some time according to the maintenance man. Almost impossible to open or close it at times so had to go to the bathroom with it open most of the time. Not great when there's another person in the room with you.

Disliked: No lift to carry heavy bags upstairs? But not really a big issue...

Liked: Location was excellent. Next to the Pubs and walking distance to Lake Taupo and the beach. Facilities were clean and in good working condition. Staff was also friendly in giving directions and tips on where to view sunsets.

Disliked: Loud music playing from the pubs across the street till 2am

Liked: Free drink at the bar. Good place to meet people.

Disliked: rooms an the first floor are incredibly loud. It doesnt realy make a difference if you are in the club on the other side of the road or in your room. The showers on the first floor are changing temperature frequently, from rather cold to boiling hot! Very dangerous. The kitchen was so dirty that they didnt even had enough cutlery and plate for 3 people, even though there was noone els eating. Everything was dirty in the sink, in the morning and in the evening. The toilette on the first floor was broken and very dirty. The stuff gave wrong information on prices and activities. I am not a complaining person, actually this is the first hostal that I rated negativly, but this one was definately the lowest qualitiy of all hostels that we have stayed in in NZ.

Liked: Good Location and great bathrooms.

Disliked: Very small TV area, 4 people watching a film and all the seats are gone. Also only 3 forks and 2 bowls in the kitchen. Few small changes and it would be the best Base we stayed in, in New Zealand.

Disliked: It was quite unclean even though the facilities are new, it felt dirty and was quite cramped.

Liked: the rooms were clean and simple. as were the bathrooms. They were comfortable rooms and the double we were in had a television too. The staff were extremely nice and helpful.

Disliked: we stayed on a thursday and a friday night and the noise coming from the hostel bar was extremely annoying. It was perfectly audible three floors up and along the block where we were, which was the furthest point away from the bar in the whole hostel. drunken kareoke blasting half of taupo until two o clock in the morning is not fun when you're trying to sleep. In our room the bathroom door also did not close, which was uncomfortable too.

Liked: Alles sehr sehr sauber und sehr modern. Allerdings war das Fenster oberhalb einer Klimaanlage und der Abluft verschiedener Restaurantkuechen. Es war laut und schlecht zu schlafen.

Liked: Great clean double ensuite rooms, but don't book one if you want to get any sleep! The bar music in the evening makes the whole building vibrate and it's very loud! We checked out a night early :(

Liked: Nice, modern hostel with electronic cards to get into the rooms but it loses points for the following reasons:1. it is located opposite the bars and clubs of Taupo therefore forget about the night sleep!2.My room had every now and then sewage smell probably coming from the toilets of the rooms beside ours!3. Carpets are also smelly!!

Liked: It was new and very clean, info from staff was good as well. The only down side was the Tui Pub on the other side of the street, very very loud music till 03.00 with what sounded like the same tune over and over again. Got a good sleep when it closed.

Liked: Good location. Kitchen was disgusting and badly equiped. Saucepans had no handles and the kitchen was generally filthy. The reception staff were helpful though and the bedrooms spotless. Very noisy rooms as the music from the bar goes on all night
