Liked: YHA Taupo is a great Hostel with friendly staff. Its near the bus stop, supermarket and the Lake itself. It has an amazing view from the Balcony, extensive selection of Videos/DVDs and a Ping Pong table.

Liked: Nice rooms, good tv room and kitchen, very helpful staff

Disliked: having to go outside to go to the bathroom especially when it was so cold!

Liked: Good location, with good facilities.

Disliked: The room had old towels left in it from previous guests behind the door, and was missing a pillowcase, luckily i travel with my own and had to use that as we'd arrived after hours. apart from that an adequate hostel

Liked: nice outdoor dining area with lovely view over lake and mountians.

Disliked: our rooms was right next to dining area and smoking area. was a bit loud at night and early in mornings

Liked: Decent location, close to supermarkets and not far from the lake itself. Ping-pong table was a bonus.

Disliked: Rooms were stuffy and the beds were unusually set up, they were fairly comfortable but probably not good if you are over 6ft. Not much space to keep your things. Just generally felt like a boring hostel, standard YHA but no atmosphere.

Liked: The staff were knowledgable and helpful. We were upgraded to a twin room with on-suite, which was great, as our original booking had been taken. Laundry closing at 8pm wasn't the best
