Liked: It was cheaper than the other hostels and still located in the central area.

Disliked: Rooms, bathrooms and kitchens were not very clean, hallways were being vaccumed at 7 in the morning, rooms were very small and crowded.

Liked: I liked my bed and the bed linen, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good and the Base's decor is really cool!

Disliked: I miss more windows! I think the structure of the building needs more air vents. I dislike the showers, they are old.

Liked: The staff were really friendly which I have not always found at other Base hostels especially in Australia! I booked accomodation and transport for time in Fiji using the travel desk and the girls were both very helpful and had a good discount! The atmosphere is good and there are good communal areas. They also offer good drinks deals in the bar such as 241!

Disliked: Sometimes there were not enough spaces in the kitchen and the rooms can be a bit tight!

Liked: single bathrooms and toilets all over a floor - felt like on-suit and liked provision of fresh shower-mats

Disliked: location on the main road is good, but with it comes the noise from outside and the bar, if the room is next to the street/above the bar

Liked: Great location, close to Fergburgers ;) Good if you like to party.

Disliked: A bit noisy everyday of the week, which can be a little disturbing if you need to get up early. And the rooms isn't the cleanest...but it's ok.

Liked: The internet area was nice, there were many computers and they were also quite cheap. The beds were nice and hostel's location was good.

Disliked: The hostel wasn't so clean and the bar's music was too noisy. Tv lounge was small and the atmosphere itself was quite poor. Staff was also busy and sometimes have to wait long time to get their attention, but they were nice still.

Disliked: drinking in rooms was accepted even if it is a clean hostel parties in the rooms were allowed loud a lot of drunk people

Liked: Good location, free breakfast, helpful staff

Disliked: Way too many people packed into this place. Rooms and hallways are narrow and dingy. The shower is tiny with a timer that turns it off after a few seconds - really awkward to wash your hair.

Liked: If you wanna party, Base is definitely THE place to go. Bar next door offers good specials and atmosphere there is also great!

Disliked: If you don't wanna party, Base can be really loud with lots of drunk people disturbing you at night

Liked: Great views over Queenstown from some of the rooms. Altitude bar underneath is a good start to night out. Lots of global gossip PC's. Good TV room.

Disliked: Quite expensive compared with others in Queenstown. Kitchen wasn't very well equipped.

Liked: right in the centre of town (think its the only hostel which is), friendly staff, clean kitchen and good tv room, rooms were clean and had sliding doors

Disliked: lack of forks! and showers were a pain as you have to hold the button in for them to stay on - very hard to wash hair!

Disliked: I did not feel like this hostel had any real character or atmosphere. The kitchen layout was not great as there was no sense of community.

Liked: Location is awesome, staff was very friendly and bedrooms were clean

Disliked: It's a very large hostel full of shaddy people. I didn't feel as safe here as in other hostels. Also be prepared for a party atmosphere if you stay here.

Liked: The staff were super friendly and helpful. Good sized rooms, girls retreat rooms were sweet. Clean. Absolutely nothing to slate this place about :)
