Liked: Very clean and very friendly staff.

Disliked: It was quite a drive from picton town centre and not well sign posted. But the hostel does offer pick ups

Liked: Very close to the Charlotte track. The double room was nice and we only had to share the bathroom, kitchen and livingroom with one other couple. If you want to take a boat trip to another point of the track you can arrange that at the reception. We had a wonderful boattrip and walked back. We would certainly recommend this place.

Liked: Very helpful and friendly hosts, Excellent, clean facilities - rooms are exceptional. Having travelled in several countries for close to 2 years this is one of the best hostels we've found.

Liked: I loved everything about this lodge! The beds were awesome, the rooms lovely, and all the details were quite artistically handled throughout the property making it extremely user friendly. The free internet worked wonderfully; the most comfy lounge was beautifully equipped as was the kitchen, and the owners are super helpful. Was an excellent safe location for our rental car while tramping the adjacent Queen Charlotte.

Liked: Warm friendly welcome with a very relaxed atmosphere. great sps, food, dvd collection for rainy afternoons. Anakiwa hostel is located in a fantasic location with the beatiful tracks to walk around Queen Charlotte Sounds. Darrell will take you out on his speed boat for a small fee to see plenty of the area. They will pick you up and stock great local wine and chocolate! Darrell and Debbie work hard to provide a clean well presented 5 star hostel well worth paying a little extra to treat your tired bones. Not a party place but still met a mixture of travellers who appreciated the high standards and homely feel. Many thanks, P & C
