BASE Bay of Islands, Pipi Patch! Welcome to Base Pipi Patch located in the stunning Bay of Islands just 50 meters from the beach. Splash in the pool or spa/hot tub, relax on the sun deck or choose from one of the many adrenalin pumping activities this island has to offer.

This is a 10-night flexible accommodation package with the opportunity to stay at any BASE Hostel in New Zealand. This includes Auckland, Paihia-Bay Of Islands, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Queenstown, Wanaka and at our new affiliate On Top Backpackers Dunedin.

The Fine Print. Our Terms.


The pass allows you to stay for a maximum 3 nights in each hostel. Consecutive stays of 4 or more nights are not permitted. BASE Jumping vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of first use and nights at any of the above properties are subject to availability at the booking time.

The Base Jumping passes are NOT valid during the whole Rugby World Cup period (9th Sept – 23rd Oct 2011).

Please book one person per package. The Base Jumping is not sharable, transferable, or refundable once the first night has been redeemed.

Accommodation Information

Welcome to Base Bay of Islands, where every room has its own balcony overlooking the outdoor heated spa, pool and courtyard full of giant palm trees.

Our non-smoking ensuite dorm room is clean and comfortable with hotel quality linen and its own shower and toilet in the room. We have heating in all rooms and full linen is provided for your comfort! The rate advertised is based on 1 person in a single bunk bed in the bed dorm.

Sanctuary rooms:

The Female only sanctuary dorm is for ladies who like to be pampered! This 8 bed dorm is split into two 4 bed dorms, non-smoking room comprising private ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower in the room, complimentary tea and coffee, and our environmentally friendly shampoo and conditioner. The beds have feather pillows and duvet and are made up with fresh linen. In addition the room features full length mirrors and a hairdryer. Rate is for 1 person in a single bunk bed in the dorm. Fantastic price for that extra bit of luxury in a fantastic location, only 50 meters from the beach.

Double / twin rooms:

For only a bit more than a dorm bed, you could have your own private room and only have to share the bathroom and kitchenette with two other private rooms.

Double / twin ensuite rooms:

For those who enjoy hotel comfort in a modern sleek backpacker environment! The Private Double Room is a clean and comfortable non-smoking room featuring modern decor. The room comprises a King size bed, TV, private ensuite bathroom with toilet and shower in the room, heating and full linen is provided for your comfort. Fantastic price for a fantastic location, only 50 meters from the beach. Maximum occupancy 2 guests.
