Liked: I was the only guest and had a dorm room for my self for almoast no money :D

Disliked: Not to clean and not to much going on there. You have to pay 30$ for a shuttle to the crossing.

Liked: We really loved staying here. The location is great. The building is lovely-its rustic and quaint. The bar was cosy and the food portions generous. The steak was the best I've had. The lady who runs it couldn't be more helpful and friendly. She gave us great advice and information on the area. It's such a shame we couldn't stay longer and do the alpine crossing. However we fully intend to come back and will definately be staying here again!

Liked: Nice, friendly welcome. Rooms were nice and warm.

Disliked: The only downside is that it is a bit of a walk (about 10 minutes) from the 'centre'

Liked: Its a good place to stay after just having completed the Tongariro Crossing and everything in the small town is in walking distance.

Disliked: The beds are very squeaky.

Liked: very friendly check in staff

Disliked: a trek down carroll st from where the magicbus dropped us off. room very sparsely decorated and cold and grubby. toilets far away from the bedroom. kitchen was a joke. get some more cutlery (3 forks in the whole place and one chopping knife!)

Liked: Met some cool people and is a great place to stay if your doing the crossing. Clean.

Disliked: Staff were sometimes a little rude. Depends on the person. Nothing really to do out there except the crossing.

Liked: Good location, very friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: The room smelt weird and it was right by the barbecue area, meaning that it was a bit noisy until everybody went to bed.

Liked: I got a free upgrade to a single room, sweet as! It was very quite, I guess during winter it's busier. Very friendly staff and a nice place to rest after some outdoor activities.

Disliked: I'm annoyed by these old water tabs - too small to get your hands unerneaths - the water runs almost like a little waterfall on the side in the sink, aaargh.

Liked: Great customer service!! Lovely couple operate this comfortable backpacker hotel, which conveniently has a inhouse bar and cafe for a good time in the evening. Can highly recommend it to any traveler in the region.
