Waterfront Lodge & Backpackers is Napier’s friendliest budget, hostel accommodation. Centrally located on Napier’s famous tree lined Marine Parade. Waterfront Lodge is a short 5 minute walk from the centre of town and adjacent to Marineland and many of Napier's other major attractions. Opposite the beach, enjoy ocean views and sleep to the sounds of the waves at night.
Watch the fabulous sun rise from our front veranda while enjoying our complimentary coffee and tea or stroll along the beachfront broad-walk.
Our backpackers is set in a wonderful colonial styled building that survived the 1931 earthquake. The Lodge is warm & cozy with a fun, family atmosphere. It has a contagious attitude and will become your ‘home away from home’. We often have large communal diners or BBQ’s where everyone is invited to participate. We find this a great way for people to meet, experiment and experience foods from different cultures.
Visit the gannets, enjoy an art deco walk or simple sample wine at local cellar doors - Napier is the sunshine capital of New Zealand.
Quote from ‘Lonely Planet’…re Napier’s Marine Parade. “Lined with Norfolk pines and some fine old wooden buildings that survived the quake, Marine Parade has retained the air of an old-fashioned English seaside resort complete with pebble beach.”
