Welcome to YHA Mount Cook!

Our beautiful alpine lodge in the Heart of Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park is the perfect base to explore and experience New Zealand's Southern Alps.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the area by taking walks suitable for all ages and abilities.

Kayaking, Skiing, Boating, Flying and Stargazing are all activities that can be enjoyed here in Aoraki / Mount Cook, as well as comfortable dining in the village’s cafés and restaurants. Our backpackers’ activity boards and knowledgeable staff will help you to decide what to do while you are here.

Or alternatively, cook for yourselves and your travel companions in our fully equipped kitchen / BBQ area.

Then to relax afterwards, enjoy our free sauna.

Finally to bed, all linen is included in the price, so no need to bring sleeping bags.

Accommodation Information

YHA Mt Cook three dorm types available - 4 beds, 7 beds & 8 beds, and can sleep a total of 77 people.

The private room types available are: twin, twin bunk, triple bunk, double, double and single & double and bunk.

- Twin rooms have two single beds
- Twin bunk has a single bunk bed
- Triple bunk rooms have one bunk bed and one single bed
- Double rooms have one double bed
- Double and single rooms have one double bed and one single bed
- Double and bunk rooms have one double bed and one bunk bed

Bed sheets and linen are provided, all bathrooms are shared (no ensuite rooms)
