Overview
Welcome to YHA Mt Cook! Our beautiful Alpine Lodge is in the Heart of Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park, the perfect base to explore and experience New Zealand's Southern Alps. Homely, spacious rooms with wooden decor will ensure a good night's sleep.
Enjoy the natural beauty of the area by taking walks suitable for all ages and abilities. Kayaking, Skiing, Boating, Flying and Stargazing are all activities that can be enjoyed here in Aoraki / Mt Cook, as well as comfortable dining in the village’s cafés and restaurants. Our Backpackers Information will help you decide what to do while you are here.
At Mt Cook Village you can experience high country life at its best. There is plenty to do within the village and surrounding areas, from glacier skiing in the winter to hiking and fishing in the summer. All local tour bookings can be arranged at the hostel. For further information ask at reception.
Mt Cook can also surprise you with some of the best cuisine. Or alternatively, cook for yourselves and your travel companions in our fully equipped Kitchen / BBQ area.
The closest food shop is 800m, City/Town Centre 100m, TV room in the Lounge, Lockers available at the Hostel, Bicycle storage at Hostel, picnic tables, free videos & games, cosy fire, heaters and central heating.
Then to relax afterwards, enjoy our Free Sauna…
Finally to bed, all linen is included in the price, so no need to bring sleeping bags.
