If you are looking for quality budget Methven accommodation with more style, then Pinedale is the place to stay. Our classic kiwi country villa offers large living spaces with plenty of room to unwind and share your adventures around the Methven area with others from around the world.

There is a comfortable open plan dining area (with log burner) and large communal lounge with pool table and ‘love pit’ in front of an open double fireplace. It has a ski tuning room and storage for mountain bikes.

The kitchen is well equipped including 2 ovens and 2 fridge/freezers. There is hi-speed internet access & wireless, a library, DVD player, video player and library, and table soccer.

Or relax and unwind in the warmth and comfort of your own separate accommodation in the Pinedale Apartment with 1 double & 1 single room. Heat pump and double glazing, guaranteed hot water, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, TV, private garden, BBQ, mountain views, separate storage room. Laundry available.

Pinedale now has its own 4WD van for transporting guests here, there and everywhere – the ski fields, the airport, the lakes and the amazing space surrounding Methven-Mt Hutt village (additional charges apply).

Pinedale Backpacker Lodge is conveniently located at 11 Alford Street right in Methven Mt Hutt village close to restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarket, shopping, service stations and i-SITE Visitor Information Centre.

Methven is a popular summer and winter resort in the South Island heartland and Pinedale Backpacker Lodge is the ideal place to stay to enjoy it all. Methven activities & attractions are based around the region’s mountains, high-country lakes, forests and rivers. Here are just some of the great things you can enjoy:

We are 10 minutes drive to the base of Mt Hutt, 1 hour to Christchurch Airport, 3.5 hours to Dunedin, 4 hours to Wanaka, 5 hours to Queenstown.

Pinedale is only 10 minutes drive from the base of Mount Hutt Ski Area. Within walking distance of Pinedale are several legendary pubs and an art house movie theater. The Visitor Center is nearby as are supermarkets, a book shop, galleries, ski and snowboard shops and a gym. There are plenty of places to eat, including takeaways, pub meals, cafes and restaurants.

Nearby activities include skiing, hot air ballooning, jet boating, Lord of the Rings tours, tandem skydiving, hiking, golf, rafting, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and horse-riding.

Pinedale Backpacker Lodge is an easy 1 hour drive from Christchurch International Airport along the travelling route between Christchurch, Mt Cook and Queenstown. In winter local shuttle buses will pick you up from Pinedale and take you up Mount Hutt.
