Location Information

Rongo is near the Karamea River, Estuary, Beach and local pub, and a short walk to the town centre, shops, cafes and bars.

Karamea is the gateway to the Kahurangi National Park. The New Zealand Great Walk the Heaphy Track finishes in Karamea, visit the largest limestone arches in New Zealand, the Oparara Arches, explore the Honeycomb Caves, climb Mt. Stormy, walk the Wangapeka Track, the Fenian Track as well as many superb day walks and activities. The fishing is great all-year round, good surf, kayaking, rafting...lots to see and loads to do.
