Liked: Great view of the mountains. Comfy beds. Decent kitchen.

Disliked: Reception is shut 1.30pm til 4 - not great when you arrive at 2pm and have to pay to store your bags until they re-open. Hostel is VERY quiet, no atmosphere. Bathrooms weren't great, and the bedrooms are small.

Liked: Location on the foreshore.

Disliked: Wife disliked unisex bathrooms upstairs although segregated bathroom were found downstairs.

Liked: it is a nice quiet place infront of the sea but unfortunately too far away from the city center (20-30 min. walking). means it is ok for people how have a car but not ok for those who need to walk all the way down to get to the supermarket, dolphin or whale office etc.

Liked: toured nz for 6 weeks, stayed in yha's for entire stay and must say this was bad.. staff who have private phonecalls on loudspeaker while trying to check you in at same time? not very professional.. also kitchen was filthy, didnt wana touch anything in it and definitly couldnt cook in it.. i would not recommend this place!!

Liked: LOCATION WAS GREAT, BUT NEED TO OIL NOISY DOORS AROUND ROOM 5 AND HAVE COIN DROP INTERNET AS RECEPTION NOT 24/7 FOR INTERNET ACCESS
