Sparkys Backpackers

Sparky's Backpackers is a new hostel in Invercargill, Southland NZ. We're small in size but big on atmosphere. Our theme is 'Railways,' as Sparky was once a train manager on the NZR Southerner.

We've secured props from the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins. The film was shot on location both here in Invercargill and on the salt flats in Utah, USA.

We offer you the thrill of speed and the passion of a man who wanted to push himself and his machine beyond the impossible. You can view the movie for free at night, and if the night is fine we'll have a chin wag and sing along around our bonfire in the backyard. Bring your instruments!

Sparky’s is a relaxing place, chilled out in fact, stay a night, a few days or even a week. Sparky is currently renovating his garage as a tribute to Burt Munro, (Sparky style) atmosphere included. - Egyptian style dormitory, bunks and 1 single bed
- Double room,1 double bed with towels, face cloth and soap provided in the room.
- Double room "Burt Munro Loveshack", 1 double bed , face cloth and soap provided in the room.

Heater included in autumn and winter in all rooms
