Liked: Great character building with excellent facilities and communal areas . Parking was available too so that was useful for us. In the evening we were offered free sandwiches and soup, BOGOF beer in the bar, free tea and coffee all day and free breakfast in the morning! The owners are lovely and extremely welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.

Disliked: That we couldn't stay longer because of our tight schedule!

Liked: Very friendly and knowledgable staff, big clean kitchen with plenty of clean utensils. Free breakfast of toast and jam/marmelade, free tea and coffee and 30 mins free internet per person. Good sized room with a very comfy bed and we were upgraded to an ensuite which was even better! Great location in town although not that much to do if the weather is poor (like it was) but you can always go back to the hostel and use the free pool table and dvd room.

Liked: The owner Dory made a point about remembering all the guests names which made it feel that much more homely and welcoming. Also the kitchen, internet, bar and free pool were added bonuses. I would definitely reccommend it to another traveller.

Disliked: Its in Greymouth, which is easily the most boring place that i have ever had the misfortune of staying.

Liked: This is the very definition of a great hostel. Independently run and very well by the owners and staff. Very clean and a model for all hostels.

Liked: Dory the guy who ran the hostel was great at getting to know people and making them feel welcome. He went out of his way to make sure people were having a good time and was just a great host.

Disliked: They didn't have any recycling facilities which was out of the norm for NZ.

Liked: staff was really nice. we got upgradet because it is very offseason and we also got 1/2 hour internet for free. central, clean and friendly.

Disliked: since it was really offseason there were just 2 volunteers but we were the only guests, the bar was closed.

Liked: Extremely friendly and helpful staff, good location and free soup and bread every day. You can also borrow dvds for free. 30 minutes free internet is also included in price. There are also plenty to see and do in Greymouth, at least for day or two, so make a stopover if it's on your route!

Liked: Absolutely fantastic and warm and welcoming host, Shoshy always makes sure that everything is good. She even gives great advice on things to see and do in the surrounding areas. I would not hesitate to stay there again next time!
