Liked: the Hostel has a very nice sauna the kitchen was clean and big

Liked: Free room upgrade! Great kitchen.

Disliked: Although not the fault of the hostel, the fire alarm going off twice during the night and having to leave the hostel at midnight and 1am.

Liked: One of the better matresses for nz-standart

Disliked: No free wifi!!! The gzy at the reception was really unfriendly and when we checked out there wasn't even somebody there to take our key back.

Liked: Ensuite was large and room was bright and airy

Disliked: The hostel was overbooked which meant that we were not permitted to stay 2 nights.

Liked: Town centre is tiny, and hostel is on the same road as all other hostels, so location is 'good' by default. Hostel is secure and clean, I think they have self-catering facilities but we didn't use them. Like that they had recycling facilities in rooms. Only stayed one night and we went to bed early, so difficult to say much beyond this.

Disliked: When we arrived the girl at reception first said they had no record of our booking or our deposit (and that someone else had been allocated our room), then said we were booked in for 2 nights, starting the night before. They checked the other computer at reception and that had different records altogether. Took quite a while to get it all sorted, with a few more confusions along the way, but we got our room in the end without paying deposit again (or for the extra night we definitely hadn't booked)

Liked: Good location. Clean and well looked after. Ideal if al you want is a good nights sleep.

Disliked: Typical YHA so a bit on the boring side. Families and older travellers around so not really a place to have a good time.

Disliked: The kitchen was awful and mass, we have to wait for long time to get pan for cooking.

Liked: The YHA had a really good kitchen and really good dining area and a nice rainforest view from our room.

Disliked: Lack of free internet (typical of all of NZ) and early closing time of reception.

Disliked: we had to pay 3 dollars plus because we don' t had an YHA membership

Liked: Very clean, and good quiet location, only 2 mins to main street. Communal areas were great.

Disliked: It was the middle of winter and the heater would only stay on for 15 minutes. However once in bed the balnkets provided plenty of warmth - just don't stick an arm or a foot out!
