Liked: Very clean spacious rooms and we even had electric blankets!

Disliked: Nothing. Unfortunately most of CBd is shut but this is still a great located hotel.

Liked: The room was lovely and clean and very secure. Very centrally located.

Disliked: Some members of staff were lovely but we encountered one very rude and helpful member of staff who was more interested in chatting to other members of staff than doing her job.

Liked: We didn't spend much time here since we got in late at night and had to leave early in the morning but we thought the rooms were absolutely great. Best room we have ever stayed in

Liked: good location, nice staff and not too expensive

Disliked: No shop nearby that is open til late - really important for those who comes there late and dont know the city / too tired to look around. soda machine was good!

Liked: Comfortable private rooms, centrally located.

Disliked: Zero atmosphere, no comunal areas, worst kitchen we've ever seen - no cuttlery, minimal pots and pans and absolutely tiny. Staff were not very friendly either.

Liked: Guesthouse located very conveniently in the city centre and close to main places of interest. Clean and comfortable rooms. Freindly staff.

Liked: close to the botanic garden it was peacefull to stay/sleep there

Disliked: a little bit far away from daily stores (but that has also something to do with the earthquake)

Liked: Staff were great, and full of information about services available in Christchurch The Night Person, even came and knocked on my door at 3-45am so I would'nt miss the Shuttle to the Airport. This place is well priced, walking distance to Shopping malls,,,great value Please visit Christchurch, the city is trying ti recover from the Earthquake, the YMCA Building stands on the edge of the Red Zone, unaffected by the Quake, it is safe Support this city, as it people are warm & welcoming as is the YMCA

Liked: Excellent food you could buy cheap in the restaurant. Nice rooms. Close to the botanic garden witch was fantastic.

Disliked: One in the staff was not very helpful, we didn´t get the help we asked for.

Liked: Bathrooms were nice but there isn't much in terms of communal areas.

Disliked: Staff on reception are a bit slow and try to deal with three people at once rather than just finishing helping you which then takes AGES!

Liked: It was warm and clean.

Disliked: This place had the atmosphere of an old insane asylum. They pack too many people into the rooms. The receptionist was RUDE when I checked in. The showers kept going from scalding to frigid without even touching the faucet. The kitchen was awful - small and lacked basic utensils, like a can opener.

Liked: The hostel itself was fine. Tidy, spacious, rooms. Good facilities (we just used the cafe!). Staff were really helpful when shuttle bus didn't turn up.

Disliked: Unfortunately central Christchurch itself isn't a great place to visit at the moment. We arrived around 7:30pm and were walking around for about an hour before we found anywhere open that was still serving food after 8pm. Not a direct critiscm of the hostel, but it's location isn't ideal while the reconstruction of the city is still going on.
