Disliked: not very clean, e.g. no one cared about dirty dishes in the kitchen

Liked: The woman that runs and owns the hostel is so friendly and always willing to take the time to help you with whatever she can. Also the hostel attracted really great people while we were there so it was a great way to interact with other travelers. Kitchen facilities are awesome.

Disliked: Not as clean as other hostels I've stayed at and it got a bit cold at night.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hostel is well located for New Brighton.

Disliked: It's a long way out from Christchurch and the kitchen was pretty messy - this is the result of the guests rather than the hostel though.

Liked: Excellent people, nice place, a bit fare away from the center, but across the street its the bus stop, so thats was not a problem! I firmly recommend it!

Liked: The lady owner was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. Due to the earth quake it was quiet which was to be expected.

Liked: Bargin for the price, good sized kitchen fully equiped with everythin you need which was cleaned every morning so was always clean. Comfy bunk beds, clean separate male and female bathrooms and free 30 min internet per way. The fijian chippy near the front was a bargin $4 for fish and chips and the inhouse dog "tess" at the hostel was so cute!! (only at recp never in the main part of the hostel).

Disliked: Location was far from city central, but close to beach. Squeaky door and was very noisy at night

Liked: Nice place, next to the beach. Cheap internet connection, 20MB/day free, enough for all emailing stuffs. The bus stops just next to the hostel !

Disliked: Little bit farther from the city center, 15 min by bus.

Liked: not much. you get 30 minutes free on the computer.

Disliked: staff were not very friendly, the building was more suited to a community college than a backpackers, there were odd smells. I counted 47 paces between my room and the toilet.

Liked: This was a great find. The facilities were excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and there are frequent transport links to the city centre. I had a very comfortable stay here.

Liked: Locality to beach and ease of access to city via frequent bus routes, Not happy that Hostel Bookers Charge a 10% booking fee when they advertise that booking is free??? The Deposit paid on line is kept by Hostel Bookers and not forwarded on to the Hostel and full cost is due on arrival???

Liked: Near to the beach and also local supermarket. Very clean and they had very good cooking and leisure facilities. But the surrounding area wasn't very nice, most shops closed around 4 and the bars were very quiet.

Liked: people are friendly and the staff are very helpful,met some really nice people there. the kitchen is a nice size and is fully equipt. they have phone that takes incoming calls n free wifi, everythin every backer needs.would definately stay there again
