Liked: Really nice place. Quiet, pretty street but really close to stuff. We had a private room and it was lovely - hotel quality and def a lot better than many hotels have stayed at - v comfy bed. Bathrooms well cleaned. Free wifi comes as hourly vouchers but are unlimited, so that was great. Recommended especially if you're after real comfort in a room.

Disliked: Kitchen can get busy, but you just have to be adaptable and it's a great kitchen and well equipped. Bit of a steep walk to get anywhere, but hey, that's Auckland.

Liked: The owners were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The free internet was a bonus. The room was spacious and clean too. the hostel is in a quiet residential area.We really enjoyed our stay here.

Liked: The owner was very helpful when our Qantas flight was cancelled - he helped to rearrange our shuttle bus and arranged a late check in. The free wifi was good too.

Disliked: There was a family in the room next door to us with young children, which seemed a little strange for a backpacker's hostel, but the children also woke us up in the morning and stopped us completely relaxing in the evenings. We also had slugs in our room which smelt a little damp too. Fortunately we had a small balcony and could open the doors to let fresh air in.

Liked: location-very close to main street in parnell-if you dont mind hills!-and also a short bus ride to city centre, more homely than big city centre hostels, free wifi, kitchen is pretty small-but had everything that you could possibly need in there

Disliked: only thing would be having to use voucher codes al lthe time to use the wifi, otherwise nothing

Liked: Comfortable beds.

Disliked: Not clean, most staff very rude and didn't speak much English, alot of long tremors who weren't up for socializing, small unclean kitchen, horrible showers/bathrooms

Liked: A great atmosphere, A feeling like it is your second home ! Hot water, comfortable beds, kitchen well equiped and free internet... Go for it ! Special thanks to the helpfull boss (who hosted us for a couple of nights while we were waiting for our campervan - the hostel was fully booked) and thanks to Peter, really nice guy, who is learning english so quickly. Location is correct 5mnswalk from nice restaurants and 15mns walk from the centre (5mns by bus).

Liked: great European food market 1 minute walk away, internet included even though it has some limits, but good enough to check on emails etc. Well equipped kitchen and great terrasse to sit outside, also in the evenings. dont' forget to bring a padlock for the lockers. owner very helpful in setting up admin stuff for working holiday travellers. Close to Newmarket for any shopping needs (camping etc), and the museum

Disliked: closest supermarket is quite a walk away, so hopefully someone has a car to drive you. Parnell is alright, but really small and not exactly the liveliest part of town either (definitely better than downtown, though). The rooms were a little smelly, maybe because of the carpet in the rooms.

Liked: The big bonus for me was the free Internet. As I had a car the fact it had parking was also a big plus. The location was also in a quite street but still close to many bars. It was only 10minutes walk away from Auckland Domain and 20minutes Walk away from downtown.

Disliked: There was only thing on an otherwise very good hostel however I felt that the kitchen was a bit messy and could have done with a proper clean.

Liked: Clean, quiet hostel with everything you'd expect. Free internet is a massive bonus and is really quick.A couple of minutes from the main road in Parnell with the buses/restaurants/fast food/bars. Only $1.60 for the bus to Auckland centre.

Liked: it is a home away from home, really clean and friendly. the living room is really a good place to meet people, especially because there are not too many beds in the hostel. I spent two nights in a dorm, which was quite big and quiet. the double room i moved in afterwards was really big, even with a fridge. That was really good value for money!
