Liked: Helpful, accommodating, communicative staff who answer emails extremely quickly. Good, hot showers. Good wifi in common areas and room. Laundry on site. Parking close by. Central location. Tons of information about activities throughout New Zealand. Roof deck.

Disliked: Breakfast was underwhelming, but the toaster oven was great. Hot plates are tricky. Not overwhelminglhy social place, so not too easy to meet people. It's literally kind of bland: taupe and grey. Is a bit pricey if you don't have a BBH card.

Liked: Well located just a few bus stops from the center of Auckland in the kind if funky kroad area. Breakfast and free wifi makes this a great little find.

Disliked: Our room had a view of a brickwall. Sounds echoed off it but not too late. Not a big deal for us but there are stairs and no lift so be aware if you have tons of stuff.

Liked: The location was pretty good, near to the airport drop-off bus, and opposite the free bus going into town. The walk into Auckland itself isn't far.

Disliked: Lot of people living there long-term, so it felt quite clicky and studenty with the long-termers getting drunk and stoned on the balcony every evening.

Liked: Being a 10-15 min walk from the city center had its good and bad points - mostly good. It was a bit of a walk, but good exercise, plus it was nice not to be in the middle of all the other hostels and bars. It was quiet and safe, the staff were friendly and there was free wifi. Breakfast was simple and serve-yourself, so I'd get groceries still.

Disliked: Could've been a little more social

Liked: Loved the funky vibe. It's in a bid of an artsy/dodgy area which gives it a sense of being in the middle of where you want to be. But the facilities are so clean and safe I never felt concerned about theft or personal safely. The Airbus stop is just down the block. Truely could not be in a better location if you want to be close to transportation, cafes and touristy stuff.

Disliked: Unless you bring earplugs, there's no getting away from the throbbing base coming from the nightclub next door or the hollering drunks coming out of the bars.

Liked: Free internet/printing is a bonus. I wouldn't stay here longer than a day or two, but a great place to stop to/from the airport . Staff was very helpful--best part of the hostel. Better than staying down by Fort St.

Disliked: Ponsonby is a nicer neighborhood that I enjoyed more. K Rd is in a very urban location. Good for a short term stay.

Liked: Small, clean Hostel right on top of Queen Street. Free breakfast and internet available. Nice, multi-lingual staff. They help you carrying your stuff, even down to the free link-bus, which departs opposite the hostel and try to answer every touristic question coming up.

Disliked: You should book in advance or hope that there is a bed available, otherwise you might have to stay somewhere else.
