Customer reviewVery good location smack down central in the city. But, the room was icy cold and not very clean at all. The bathrooms were dreadful and straight out dirty. There was no papertowels to wipe hands, only wet dirty towels, some times. In general the whole place looks worn down and dodgy. The nice wall murals on each floor didn't quite counter this experience. |

Vincent ForresterChoice Plaza Backpackers is a strange place. Firstly, a lot of the residents are exactly that - residents. They have been living there for several weeks or months and as a result have a lot of stuff which they spread around the dorm as if it were there own private room. The kitchen was OK - it was not the most modern or clean kitchen I have ever seen, but it was big enough and had a reasonable amount of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. The security was a bit of an issue: there is a safe, but there is no system for establishing ownership, you simply hand over your stuff and hope the (admittedly very friendly and helpful) staff don't give it to someone else. The communal area is quiet noisy: the TV area is separated from the main foyer only by a small fence-y thing, as is the internet area. There is a rather loud, whiny pipe about the computers which is pretty annoying, but that's probably a bit pedantic. All in all a decent hostel, made worse by the nature of its residents rather than by any intrinsic faults. |

Customer reviewBit of a random hostel. Good location but there are several others closer to downtown for the same price. Be aware a lot of people actually end up living there so most rooms are a bit of a tip. Also a lot of weed but v. good staff and family atmosphere. |

Customer reviewHomeless woman and two students living in my room becuase it's a little cheaper than other hostels! Felt like I was intruding ... stuff all over the place. Not a good backpacker experience. Communal area awful and cold. |

Customer reviewThis was an extremely central hostel (with a great korean pancake vendor just round the corner) that had all the amenities you want in a hostel. It was clean, great TV and DVD room with 24hr internet and a fully equipped kitchen with oven. |
