Liked: Great location.

Disliked: Dorm rooms are cramped. Squeaky beds. Ventilation is bad, rooms and corridors often smell (unless you want to sleep with open windows, but in winter...). Kitchen is under-equipped given the capacity of the hostel (one toaster, one microwave, one fridge...). Staff range from vaguely helpful to downright unfriendly. The hostel is understaffed as well; during peak time, you might wait a quarter of an hour at the reception.

Liked: Location was brilliant as in city centre and if on kiwi experience tour you can get picked up down the road. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Disliked: really noisy at night. Music outside didn't stop till 2.30am and the rooms are really really basic

Liked: The property was neat. People were nice especially the housekeepers. They greeted whenever they meet us. I stayed in a 8-beds dorm and it's spacious enough. I like the HUGE locker underneath the bed and I like the clothes hook available. I also like that there're many power points around for charging. I like the shower rooms as they had a dry space where I could pull up my pants and enough clothes hook on the door for hanging.

Disliked: It would be better if every beds in the dorm has a dedicated reading lamp and a small area to place specs/phone/belongings. This way, everyone can do their own things without disturbing others who doesn't want the light on. It would be super good if the bathrooms are not shared between both genders. This is awkward. I've seen baby cockroaches in the kitchen, toilet and bathroom. I had one running up my body when I was in the shower and it freaked me out! There seemed to be some problem with the water supply in the shower. Water pressure was quite low. Hot water supply was not constant but sometimes it could be boiling HOT without me adjusting the temperature.

Liked: Great people, great location, everything you need. Lockable storage under the beds

Disliked: No toilets on the 7th floor, so you had to go all the way down to the 3rd when on the roof garden!

Liked: It was clean.

Disliked: 100% natural heating. Heated ONLY by the body heat of the occupants. Had to sleep fully clothed to keep warm Very noisy.

Liked: The atmosphere was really awesome. The rooftop was a great place for meeting new people. Comfy beds! People were great

Liked: I had a good night of sleep, and it was very central. The Airport shuttle stop is literary 1/2 block away.

Disliked: The Dude in the Corner had a quicky with some Ozzy chick. It woke me up and it was retarded. Just pay for a proper motel. I guess thats what happens when I book a central place to stay on a Saturday night. Most people I met where they to just party, and travel in small towns.

Liked: Great location, great rooftop patio

Disliked: It's a party hostel, so if you're on the first floor, the walls and windows will shake until 4am at the weekend. kitchens a bit small/limited

Liked: Very clean, a lot of bathrooms, the shared room so little and without as good "air fresh", but clean in general.

Disliked: Don´t have a WIFI free, and de use of the internet it´s very expensive ($4 per hour).

Disliked: very busy so sometimes have to wait a long time to speak to reception staff, no free internet (but this is typical of NZ)

Liked: Really clean and excellent kitchen facilities. The location is perfect to get to transportation or anything.

Disliked: Wish they had heaters in the rooms. It get pretty cold at night.

Liked: Great staff and location

Disliked: Soooo noisy in the 12 bed dorm. Felt like I was trying to sleep inside a club. Window didn't shut properly so when the music stopped at 4am the street cleaners started. Get a higher room.

Liked: Met some awesome people, good bar

Disliked: 12 bed room was too small for 12 people and the birds flying into the kitchen's not exactly good! But it is cleaned 3 times a day

Liked: its so central which makes it perfect for staying in auckland you can walk everywhere or the bus /train station is so close. The bar is a great place its lively and super cool.

Disliked: kitchen can get busy at peak times but you expect that in any hostel you go to. a few more tables to eat your dinner wouldn't go amiss

Liked: The location is ideal and the attached bar/restaurant was well worth the stay. The view from the kitchen wasn't half bad either.

Disliked: Security was average at best. A room key is required to enter any of the dorm areas however, obtaining a key was rather easy and entering and exiting the locker room was shockingly easy.

Liked: tristan the p.a person for the bar was pretty good. and the $100 bar competition.

Disliked: urm the fridges are way to small. kitchen also. not much seating for dinner. the showers wernt usuable on our floor although there was use of the other floors toilets. though not at night when the doors were shut so you could not get in. so therfore had to use the out of order toilets and showers.
