Disliked: very large and so lacks a bit of atmosphere but if you make the effort you will meet people

Liked: Staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms and hostel overall of a good clean standard. The electronic keys are brilliant and much better than old fashioned key locks.

Disliked: Maybe a coffee/hot drinks machine would be a useful investment as upon arrival a hot drink is much needed before venturing out to buy provisions!

Liked: This hostel was very clean and the staff were super friendly. As we booked online we got a really good rate on a twin ensuite room. The kitchen area is big and the rooms are spacious. Location is good too, just off Queen St the main area for everything. Quiet hostel and also good place to meet other travellers.

Disliked: Cant think of anything....

Liked: This was the cleanest hostel i've ever stayed in!! Huge kitchen, comfortable rooms, clean linnen, beds pretty much made up for you, info about whats on in the city daily, felt safe and secure, all rooms have a locker, you just need your own padlock and I never had to queue for the bathroom!!

Disliked: Internet was 6$ph for wifi or 4$ ph for use of a computer but there was an internet cafe round the corner which only cost 1$ph!! The rooms staying on the fromt of the building were very noisy at night if you kept the window open, not as bad with it closed but you could still hear it! The rooms on the back of the building are more quiet but the windows don't open!!

Liked: It was not too far away from the town centre.

Disliked: I didn't think the bathrooms and showers were very clean. I sometimes felt as though the staff were trying to sell me products such as YHA vouchers even though I had explained quite clearly that I didn't need them.

Liked: The fact that I only had to stay for a single night

Disliked: This is definitely the worst place I've stayed during my trip in NZ. Nothing to recommend about it except that it was in the middle of Auckland.

Liked: nice central to auckland, big kitchen with lots of storage space and cooking space

Disliked: room couldn't be aired properly so was quite hot and stuffy. was facing close to other building

Liked: Good location, very helpful staff, easy to get onto tours if wanted, great kitchen, very good for backpackers, clean comfortable beds and rooms.

Disliked: The Wifi barely worked from the rooms, and wasn't exactly cheap. Fortunately McDonalds down Queen St has free wifi.

Liked: It's the best in Auckland -- all the other places are worse. The walls are pretty thin. And kind of boring - but it is a YHA so the cleanest you'll find.

Liked: Great place to stay, very clean and rooms a very good size (4-bed dorm) although the bunks were a little creaky! Large kitchen and dining area. Good location, too. We're coming back in a few days time!

Liked: No bar, you are at least 10 minutes to any decent bars and the nearest supermarket is 15 minutes by bus. Really poor facilities to meet fellow travellers i would stay at a hostel on Fort street.
