Liked: Clean, possibly got an upgrade? better room than I thought I had paid for.

Disliked: I didnt find the staff very helpful, none of the soap dispensers in the toilets that i used worked so had to dip my hand in the top others didnt have soap at all. The hostel is clean but feels run down. Kitchens OK. They have a DVD colletction that you can borrow but only if you have your own player as the DVD player in the TV room doesnt work which made my wait to get my bus very long. I couldnt leave my bags as I was told that you had to pay to store them which was $13 (i dont know if that was true i didnt check). There are also no lockers in the rooms for any valuables which I had come to think was standard at other hostels. (My next YHA hostel in NZ also doesnt so obvoiusly not). The internet is $9.95 unlimited per day which i think is expensive when I are only paying $18 a night to stay there, the location is very central and there is a library down the road where the internet is free. Overall I think YHA hostels are good for your money and are all roughly to the same standard to the others in that country, some countrys are just far better. I extended my stay there and was told to book online as they couldnt compete with what I had paid here and wanted to charge me $30 a night.

Liked: No bunk beds. It was very cheap. And also, we booked a dorm room and we (me and boyfriend) got a private twin room, for the same price. So that was nice from the staff to do. The kitchen was very large and very good.

Disliked: It is not in the city center, it's a small walk towards it. Not that much laundry facilities and when the hostel has to wash themselves, you can't wash. Also it was not cosy or anything, just a big stiff and boring and grey. More like a motel or something.

Liked: EASY ACESS TO EVERYTHING. FRIENDLY STAFF. CLEAN AND TIDY.

Liked: A clean and safe place to stay, but no character, not so much in terms of comfort, meeting people, no "chill" factor. Decent value, although some hostels in city are cheaper. Be sure to take the free city link (red) bus to avoid walking up the long hill of Queen St! Not much in groceries in the area but lots of cheap asian restaraunts.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: The kitchen was great! So much space, a lot of things we could use for cooking!!! We thought they were so generous!!!

Disliked: The location was not too far from the centre of the city, but it was the top of the hill and it was soooo stiff!!!!

Liked: very good value for money, we were upgraded from a dorm room to a private room for the same price which was lovely! great Japanese and Korean restuarants just down the road. free bus that takes you right to the centre of town or a 15 min walk down hill. very friendly staff.

Disliked: .... nothing really.

Liked: We had booked a dorm room but were upgraded to a twin in arrival which was great. The hostel was fine for our one night stay -the room, bathrooms etc. were all clean and check-in quick and the staff friendly.

Disliked: There was far too little fridge space in the kitchen (only two regular-sized fridges) for the number of guests and the fridges were so full they didn't close properly.

Disliked: When I stayed there the kitchen was closed for 2 days due to new carpet that was laid. It was very inconvenient for me (computers and phones are also in the kitchen and were closed off)

Liked: Nice tv lounge and sundeck. Not too crowded becuase its not right in the middle of Queen St.

Liked: We got upgrade to a private room, Showers are kept nice and clean, Rooms were basic but clean, Staff were really friendly.

Disliked: It's situated on top of a steep hill!

Disliked: Not that many organised activities in the eveingins which makes it a little difficult to meet people. Also tended to have an older customer base so not so good for experiencing the night life.
