Liked: I was surprised (in a good way!) by this hostel and its facilities - the TV room is good and there are board games and a book exchange available, the kitchen is clean and well equipped, the staff were helpful. Don't pay for the internet there, go down Queen's Road and find it for $1 an hour instead - bargain! One of the girls I shared a room with did have her bag stolen out of her room so be careful with your belongings - there are lockers in the basement. Overall a better experience than I expected though!

Liked: The hostel was very nice and exactly as described on hostel bookers. The hostel was nice and clean and the staff were friendly enough. The only one that wasn't was the manager as she could barely break a smile, let alone say hello

Liked: We liked this hostel and the staff were nice and friendly. Unfortunately the manager was very rude and lacked the basic customer service skills and manners you would expect from a hostel let alone a YHA.

Liked: very generic.. although i guess you maybe expect this with a hostel international hostel.. and very intimidating sales orientated receptionist.. pushing yha card.. felt the hostel was more profit oreintated than truly for the backpacker.. not able to store luggage for free once checked out.. even though facilites exist.. have to pay for lockers.. not even just a deposit or use your own padlock system. other hostels in auckland for same price with equivalent facilites and more social interation exist.

Liked: It is a normal hostel for the area and has all the usual stuff. Don't use the internet go out and find it for 1.50 per hour.

Liked: The hostel was clean but rooms a little dated. Comunal areas especially the kitchen was very clean and the staff were mostly helpful. Not really party central but close enough to the centre to be able to go out easily.

Liked: nice place to stay easy to get too and just a few minutes walk from city centre ,however there could have been more toilets and separatedM/F shower rooms .The door didn't lock properly twiced young girls came into the shower room .Which is ok I guess, if I would be 30 years younger.

Liked: Does what it says on the label: Perfectly clean; Helpful staff etc. However -a noticeably aged population! I may have just been unlucky, but certainly not the place to meet younger travellers (U30)!That said, could not fault my stay there.

Liked: the location was good and we booked a dorm of 4 and when we got there we were upgraded to our own private room at no extra cost!

Liked: It was very clean, but it could have done with more bathrooms. The staff are really helpful and it's really close to town. There is a big kitchen and dining area and there is a shuttle to the airport just outside. It is on top of the steepest street ever, so it will work your thigh muscles. The laundry is very cheap and there is secure lockers down in the basement too. Altogether, a great hostel.
