Customer reviewThe views are unbelievable! It's very quiet at night too, so you can actually get a good nights sleep. Mt. Eden Village (5 min walk) is great - excellent restaurants & wonderful atmosphere! |

Customer reviewIt was so cold we wore coats and hats indoors and as they always leave windows and doors open even at night this made it worse. I ended up sleeping in my coat and extra layers too because the blankets were paltry. It smelt solidly of damp too. Do not go if you don't like dogs. They chain a huge one on a lease outside and it went for me. Beautiful house, beautiful views but best in summer. Couldnt WAIT to get out of there in winter. It was an endurance test. |

Customer reviewYaping House is in a beautiful location in Mt. Eden. There is a gorgeous areal view right from the front yard. The man who runs the hostel is extremely friendly and helpful. He gave me very good recommendations on what to see in Auckland. The beds are very comfortable. I booked a shared dorm room and was upgraded to a private room with a double bed for the same price because it wasn't during peak tourist season. The other people who stay at the hostel long term are very very friendly. I had a great time staying there. |

Customer reviewThe nice and quiet area, and the surrounding(Parks,Village). It is a peaceful place, and the owner are always very friendly and helpful. It is not a party place! There is everything which you need while you are staying in a Hostel. The only disadvantage in my oppinion was that the house is not heated. |

Ronald GillFree internet was a godsend, as internet is pricey in NZ. David our host was very helpful, told us all we needed to know. Our double room was large and clean, with a fridge. Kitchen was a bit sparse on the utensils, but other than that it was servicable. Thanks David we had a blast. |

Laura-Anne WardThe free internet is great and the staff are really friendly here. It is a lovely quiet location in a lovely building, but we found it a little too far away from town. A nice place though. |
