Liked: The staff was really nice and wanting to help with your stay and help plan your days, the kitchen was awesome and they had lots of room to cook and eat. The rooms were nice, I don't like bunk beds zo this was awesome for me.

Disliked: The few things that I didn't like was the location. It was only a bus ride away but for backpackers, it was extra cost that's not needed. Also the showers, the only had three on the floor I was on fir maybe about 30 people or so. I'm not sure how many beds were in each of the other rooms,

Liked: The staff were excelent (Tessa in particular). The place was incredibly clean and had a home from home atmosphere. Mt Eden Village is quaint and the walk to Mt Eden is well worth it

Liked: Really nice and charming place, with helpful staff. Calmer and quieter than the usual big chains of hostels.

Disliked: Cant say its only a bad thing, but its located quite far away from the city.

Liked: It is probably the cleanest backpacker I have ever stayed at, even the towels in the lavatories are changed at least once per day. The management is great, always superhelpful and friendly and has a very professional attitude. The team of cleaners do a great job, the garden is nice, my (single) room was sunny and quiet, all facilities are up to scratch. Mt. Eden is full of nice shops and restaurants for all budgets, the airport-bus stops 150 m from the hostel and by bus you are in the city within 20 minutes. To sum it up: I LOVED IT!

Disliked: The only thing is disliked about Oaklands Lodge was the fact that I had to leave it and fly back to Germany. ;-) No really, nothing to criticize.

Liked: Large kitchen, able to accomodate many people cooking at the same time. Staff is friendly and very helpful, gave many suggestions to help us on the rest of our travels. The property is good for relaxing. Also, it is right next to Mt. Eden and the village, as well as close to a bus stop that takes you straight into downtown.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: out of all the hostels i have stayed in in America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand this is by far the best. Perfectly clean and staff willing to help you with everything, the poeple are very friendly and the kitchen is huge! only a cheap bus ride from right outside the door straight into the city and a lovely setting right at the bottom of mount eden. this is easily the best hostel to stay in if you are travelling to auckland, we will definitely be back!!

Disliked: absolutely nothing! it was perfect.

Liked: Didn't met so many people but I still liked the location because it's just next to to a hill that where you can see whole Auckland.

Liked: Decent place, but not brilliant. Big kitchen with decent facilities if you fancy cooking. Rooms dont have any secure lockers. Staff were helpful, but didnt really go out of their way to make you stay any better. Location is a nice quiet suburb - good easy walk up Mt Eden for great views. About 15 minutes by bus ($1.60) to the city centre.

Liked: Elle was fantastic and really helpful - just what I needed after my 12 hour flight. The kitchen had everything you needed and more and it was a great place to meet people. The location is good and really central. A great starting place for new zealand.
