Liked: Only affordable place for a weekend in Amsterdam. Not too inconvenient given it's so far away (only 15mins by train to Amsterdam, & 10mins from station by bus). Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Disliked: Ensuite was tiny & quite dirty. Rooms not incredible. Obviously not as convenient as actually being located in Amsterdam.

Liked: Clean and spacious room, good for big family on a shoestring budget holiday.

Disliked: One of the bunk beds is too close to the toilet it makes very unpleasant for the person sleeping on the bunk bed.

Liked: The location is very picturesque, but outside city centre. The room was big and clean. The breakfast was excellent. There were table games in a common room.

Disliked: They were out of towels, which I found extremely ridiculous. Their internet is too expensive. Most hostels I stay at provide at least some internet for free, if not completely free. This was 10cents a minute.

Disliked: Internet 15min = 1€, 1h = 3€, 5h = 10€. In other words: robbery.

Liked: Clean

Disliked: Well, the whole StayOkay monopoly sucks. The hostels are uninspiring and full of families. Check-out times are too early (10:30). Internet costs. StayOkay hostels are like the antetype of the hostel idea.

Liked: great building and clean, helpful day staff, good facilities, excellent havin' a bus stop right outside

Disliked: rather quiet at times, cud do with some music on during the day of something to give it abit more atmosphere

Liked: I liked very little. It was a place to rest my head.

Disliked: It was very far from Haarlem itself (about 5km from the centrum). The rooms were smelly and dirty. There are lockers, but you must have your own lock.

Liked: As with most HI hostels I've experienced, this one was well organised, good standards of cleanliness, and doesn't claim to be anything that it its not. However if you are traveling alone and you wish to meet other travelers this isn't a great place. Having said that I guess Haarlem isn't a traveling Mecca (theres one of those 15 miles down the road!), and will provide a nice chilled town in which to relax after Amsterdam perhaps. The bar area is quite good, and the patio by the canal is nice. There is a pool table for 1euro a game. Bikes can be hired for about 10euros and the hostel is well situated for a ride to the sand dunes, or to the North Sea.

Liked: The staff were super friendly, the location was great for going on bike rides through the national parks - but I recommend you get a proper map from tourist info as the other backpackers I talked to and I all got lost on our bikes! Great place for a quieter side of Holland though.

Liked: Clean, and a good place to sleep, for the price. I liked the place. Only problem is that it may be difficult to find the place, and that the hostel name is also the name of the bus stop.

Liked: The cleanliness of this hostel was very good. It only takes about a half hour to get to Amsterdam from here so I would recommend to anyone travelling in that area.

Liked: Very nice place to stay if you're looking for a comfortable bed for the night, and good value. It is quite far out, but Sanpoort-Zuid station is onlly a few minutes walk and there's a very good service to haarlem and amsterdam. This was very convenient for us to travel around the area in comfort

Liked: A bit out of the way and a bit of a walk from the train station. Read the directions carefully to avoid getting lost and read the train timetables for getting into Amsterdam carefully.

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. It is a very cheap hostel but almost everything was like as it had been a luxury hotel. :-)Thank you, perhaps I will return if go to Amsterdam in the future.
