F.A.S.T.

Scheveningen F.A.S.T. (Architecture Free Surf Terrain) is a unique and artistic surfer’s village on the boulevard of Scheveningen. This town offers a beach-hostel, a surf shop, surfing lessons, board storage, a bar and restaurant, artproject, great parties and even a museum. F.A.S.T has got it all.

The surfer’s village is now a reality. Surfers from all over the world can set up camp with beds for the night, showers, changing rooms, a café, internet, a stage and a surf shop.

F.A.S.T is the first step in changing Scheveningen into a surfing paradise, a plan the Municipality of The Hague wholeheartedly endorses. Usually a surfer's village appears in the middle of nowhere, said Deputy Mayor Marnix Norder (Urban Development), himself an ardent surfer. F.A.S.T is located right by the city and that’s special.

Location Information

F.A.S.T can be seen from the Scheveningen Boulevard and is attracting lots of interest. Its location on the Noorderstrand by the Hague beach stadium is the best surfing spot in the Netherlands, according to organizers. It will be located there from the end of May 2009 until December 2010.
