Liked: We stayed in a private and it was clean enough. The breakfast was nice.

Disliked: The rooms are very expensive for what you get. We would recommend just taking a daytrip to The Hague and staying in a different city for cheaper. No outside food or drink is allowed in the hostel and there is no public kitchen, so you have to eat at their bar or eat in town.

Liked: clean, polite staff

Disliked: I booked a private 2 bedroom, but i got a bunk bed, where they just took out another bed (so that the room was completly full). All the furniture was very basic, even missing the smallest things( e.g. a wall peg for towels) and i think for the price I can expect a little more than what was offered.

Liked: Its quite clean, and very chilled. It seemed it was pretty empty during off peak season.

Disliked: It was quite pricey, and the location shoulders onto a rough neighbourhood.

Liked: it was clean & in a decent location: the hague is small enough that you can get to the center by foot easily. the hostel is maybe 15 minutes from the central station, but it's also a short walk from den haag hs. they also offered a rad free breakfast: great bread, cheese, & meat to make sandwiches, plus cereal, milk, coffee, juice, & fruit.

Disliked: the price: all these hosteling international joints charge way too much. it's a bogus exploitation of budget travelers, and they get away with it because there are no other budget options in a lot of their locations. granted, hostels in the netherlands are expensive in general, and every place jacks the price up on the weekend when availability becomes limited, but this was the only place where i felt ripped off. also, while the social facilities were nice, this was far from a social hostel. they had a decent bar area, but no one was there on a friday night when they told me i had to pay extra because they were almost fully booked.

Liked: the breakfast was excellent. the best one among the hostels I've stayed. location wasn't bad. close to Hollands Spoor station. since Den Haag is not that big you can just walk to the central if you don't mind walking.

Disliked: the drain of the shower wasn't working well and there was no place to put my stuff. just a hook.

Liked: Good located, very clean, good breakfast, friendly staff..

Disliked: Most of the hostel guests were teenagers, so it was rather boring there - no interesting people to meet, there is a nice bar in the hall but nobody's there... And I'm not sure if they have computers with free Internet access, at least I haven't seen them.

Liked: The rooms were sunny, large, and well-kept. The cleaning lady was quite friendly and non-invasive.

Disliked: Whenever the staff tried to suggest laundromats or restaurants, the locations were no longer there. Please either provide better-informed staff or handouts that give ACCURATE locations. Also, no one from the train station has a clue where this place is. Either get directions on Google maps beforehand or do what we did and call a cab.

Liked: It's the only hostel of Den Haag in hostelbookers. It's 10 mins walking to center. Near the red light district. Quiet place. Very clean. 8 people dorms are big and has toilet and bath ensuite. Also 2 sinks in room.

Disliked: I think it is expensive. But also all hotels in Netherlands are expensive.

Liked: Clean, value for money hostel. Not a bad place if you would like to meet people (the bar at Happy Hour gets pretty crazy). The hostel is situated about a 5-10 min walk from Den Haag main city. If you are a girl traveling alone, the walk to the city can feel a little unsafe as the area looks and feels a little sketchy... you are safe though!!! Overall, I would recommend this hostel!

Liked: The location is central. The breakfast was good.

Disliked: The hostel is very-very big and was overcrowded by schoolgroups. There is no kitchen. The lockers were only in the basement but not in the room (we lived on the third floor) - this was clearly very inconvenient.

Liked: Beds were comfortable and clean. And the rooms were pretty spacious.

Disliked: There is absolutely no reason to charge for internet or for lockers/safe boxes. With the expense obviously put into just making the place look posh, they could instead actually provide more amenities that most, if not all, travelers will take advantage of such as internet and having a safe spot for items. Everyone has a passport, and with a a locker/safe box, travelers could instead keep it in a secure place rather than their pocket/purse which is always risky particularly when a traveler decides to go out on the town. Also, there was extremely poor air circulation in the bathrooms and showers. Honestly, I have stayed in hostels in third world countries. And although they were not as 'posh' as this place...there was free internet, a safe box, and air circulation. Go figure.

21 February 2011 Richard would recommend this property

Liked: Clean, functional, served a purpose.

Disliked: Lacking in Character, staff just doing their job. Didn't find the place very homely, it was very business like. No free WiFi, in fact it was very expensive. Breakfast meagre. Worst thing was access to the top bunks. There were stainless steel square steps on the ladder which only went half way to the floor. This made climbing up very awkward and climbing down very painful with bare feet. You also have to jump the last half a metre to the ground for fear of treading on whoever is in the bottom bunk. Very badly designed. OK for a night if passing through but I wouldn't want to make a base of the place for a longer stay.
