Jorplace Beach Hostel

Welcome to the first and only beach hostel in Scheveningen, The Hague. Jorplace offers a great experience with a laid back atmosphere.

Jorplace has 122 beds in 23 different sized rooms. We offer a wide variety of different room sizes; from the 20 bed mixed dorm all the way up to a single room. We opened our doors in 2008 and are now a well known travelling hotspot for all people looking to travel on a budget. Our facilities include; a hostel bar inside the surf style lounge, a guest kitchen with everything you need to cook yourself a 5 star meal, and a nice big garden with a cosy outdoor fireplace to sit at, relax and meet your new friends. Jorplace also provides a free internet café, free wi-fi access and a TV corner to chill and watch a movie.

Location Information

We are located just a short 3 minute walk from the famous Dutch beach of Scheveningen in the vibrant and cosmopolitan shopping street of Keizerstraat. The harbour; where you can go and eat the fresh daily catch of the day in one of the cosy restaurants, is also located a short walking distance away. The international city of The Hague, replete with boutique stores, cafes, museums and active nightlife is only a 10 minute tram ride away. A day trip to Amsterdam only takes around 45 minutes by train and Rotterdam is around 30 minutes away.

Scheveningen; the biggest beach town in the Netherlands, is a modern seaside resort with a long sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse. There is always something to do here, from romantic sunset dinner on the beach to all night beach parties at the famous Crazy Pianos. Stay out all night with your friends partying and then chill out on the sandy beach the next day. If you’re looking for some more active ways to spend your time here, then you can go learn to surf at one of the many surf schools, or take some kite board lessons and let the wind drag you through the sea. Scheveningen also has a beach station where you can find beach volleyball, beach soccer, and beach hockey tournaments every week. For a more cultural experience hop on the tram into The Hague city centre where you can find the government buildings, the Peace Palace, the I.C.C, the Escher museum, China town and an abundance of beautiful parks and amazing architecture.
